Finish Kare 1000P

I personally love the FK2180 anti-static polymer sealant and their FK425 ultra slick anti-static detail spray.

Can you offer me some advice on how to apply it? I've got a friend coming over tomorrow and was thinking of using this on his Jeep. What pad and speed should I use when applying it? I'll be using a Flex 3401.

The first coat should be worked in real well. 2180 will eat itself into the paint. See if you can apply another coat, although 1 is good enough.

Yes, the paint will "slurp in" the first coat. It's weird to watch as it disappears, but 2180 works this way. The 2nd layer will not be absorbed entirely and usually the 3rd works as a normal liquid product.

I always try to "saturate" the paint with 2180, but it's not necessarily a must, as Thomas said.

On wheels, I like FK1000P when I can only do a few applications, but if I have the time and inclination to do many layers of KSG, I find that the latter lasts a lot longer.

I FK1000P'ed the Yukon last year (six layers!) but I haven't used it enough since then to have anything to report. The FK1000P *does* have a signature look, that might not be right for everyone on every vehicle.

I've always thought 1000P has a "candy-coated shell" look to it...which I really like on certain colors.

I used it on a VW Beetle last year that was a mint and/or seafoam green color and it looked great. It honestly looked like a giant M&M. Haha.
