Finally used my AutoGlym HD Wax

So i finally got around to opening my AG HD Wax... and i must say, I'm fairly pleased with the overall results so far.

Application was fairly easy. I found it very easy to apply a thin coat as long as the applicator pad was pretty moist. Tho the applicator did dry out rather quickly and had to be re-moistened often.

Removal was neither easy nor difficult. It dusted rather badly and loaded up the microfiber towels. I went thru probably 5 or 6 towels during removal.

The look is great tho... compared to the few other products i've used (Mother's Pure Carnauba, Meg Tech Wax 2) i think this looked much deeper and wet... on initial inspection i swear it has some swirl filling/hiding properties. But it could just be my mind playing tricks on me. It does attract a fair amount of dust, and i have no idea as to the longevity yet.

I'll get some pics eventually.

I got some as well when Walmart was clearing it out. It's one of the products I need to experiment with.

I've used it before. Very easy to apply, but it was like removing concrete, even after the car was clayed and polished. Durability was above average for a carnauba paste wax, but nothing to write home about.

Could the removal be a shelf life, storage issue? Just curious.
Some waxes are temperamental about storage before curing on a car.
Or could there be a bad batch prompting the clearance. Our store still sells/stocks it full price but did have some in clearance before. I'm just wondering.

I thought durability on the HD Wax was pretty extraordinary for a paste wax. One of the top I've ever used, for sure. Looks are pretty nice too.

And you're right - when applied as per manufacturer directions, it's a PITA to use.
