Finally, the big time

I got a call Wed from the big cheese who runs special events for the Oprah show. They wanted me to drive down to her studio to detail the new Pontiac G6 which they wanted to show off on her show this Monday. It was pretty exciting seeing the facility, too bad I didn't get to meet Oprah herself. I will post pics of the car over the weekend, and if you get chance, watch the show MOnday and let me know how it looks. I think I want to target celebrities now after this experience. Looks like my business plan is working. :up

See if you can get the hookup w/Dr.Phil I would like to know whats wrong w/my GF getting mad at me for this detailing Obsession :D

~One man’s opinion / observations~

turbomangt - Congratulations on the Oprah show detailing opportunity

6']['9- Perhaps she feels the detailing is getting more of your time / attention than she is (easily rectified though)… just a thought (don’t ask how I know)

~Hope this helps~

Knowledge unshared is experience wasted

Yup, teach her how to work the extractor! ;)

My sister got flown out to be on Oprah a couple years ago. I think the theme was something about teens w/ piercings that their parents don't approve of. I didn't see the show, but I'm sure Oprah approached it from some touchy-feely angle. Unfortunately, mom was in Europe at the time, so sis didn't appear on stage, just sat in the front row. Don't even think she got camera time, except for maybe being in the background. They put her up in a nice hotel, ground transportation on both ends, food.. top notch operation Oprah seems to have.

Whatta ya think of the G6, turbomangt?

congrats! hopefully they'll mention you as the person who detailed it! :)

6']['9 - maybe you should try detailing her instead. or maybe approach her like you would with detailing. a good wash, clay, prep, polish, and a topper. :D

If my name or company was mentioned on the show I could NOT keep up with the work that would come my way. Won't happen anyhow. I'll be happy just having this opportunity on my list of accomplishments. Watch the show MOnday and see how it looks.

:LOLOL yup

Too

I detailed a 240 SX and Maxima in late 1996 for the rollout of the '97s to the Southwest Nissan dealers which was pretty interesting, but nothing near the magnitude of doing something similar for a rollout on a TV show.

Since we lost some threads last night. Here is a picture of the car in the studio. :up

Congrats turbomangt

Thanks for posting that pic, I was worried how it would turn out because the light was crap when I was working on it. I had to move spot lights around making sure all the residue / haze was gone. Those lights will expose any sins, from the looks of it, looks like a brand new car, oh wait, it is a new car.;)
