No more doing it remotely from home anymore in good or bad weather! WOOHOO!!

Best part is I got a killer lease for it too so barely any overhead!

I do, we're going to paint the walls, paint the floors, probably put in a few more lights down the middle or on the sides closer to the vehicles. I'm going to move a few racks from home to put the supplies on, and I have still more things to move, but that right there now will be sufficient. We have tons of plans to do, there's an empty office next door as well we might lease that up for office space.

Congrats on the new work space!

As a suggestion for a cheaper alternative for your lighting situation, you could probably lower those lights a little bit if at all possible but from the looks of things, it seems that you can't. Banners are also pretty good about covering the bland space in your "garage."

Definitely happy for you man. Wish I had a place like that with minimal overhead.

I will be painting all the areas with white paint. Banners will surely go up and probably maybe a few posters as well.

Give some thought to using color, instead of white. We get constant comments about how 'fresh and clean' our Shop looks

Congratulations.

The yellow actually works quite well. My place is mostly white, and no drop ceiling. Guess I should try and take a few pics.

So jealous, it kinda gives off feeling of one of those nights clean up your car, hang out for a while, and then go out a drive around. I love the feeling of your shop give right now. Good job on the space though!

how did you go about finding the site?? i am tossing around the idea of leasing my own site, just want some ideas of how you went about finding the place.

thanks

Jim

i found a place I would love to setup as a detail shop...only about 800 per month for a 1000sqft area with lots of 220 volt and 110 volt outlets, bathroom, office space, waiting area, and enough detail space to fit three cars comfortably....i would jump on the deal if i was out of school already, but it may have to wait til summer, hopefully the spaces arent taken by then...

thanks everyone! I hope this new location and shop will bring in MORE business.

I'll have updates pictures once everything is set up :)

Jim has a good point about the use of colors, even if you plan to put up posters and such.

Something else that Jim has done in his site that adds a real nice touch is the use of some floor tiles. Take another look at his picture and try to see whether some floor tiles might help to break up some of the work area into a 'nicer' area (bad choice of words- hope you catch my drift, tho). Floor tiles squares are easy to lay, or you might be able to buy some leftover lamenant at Lowes cheaply.

If you want benners, take a look at EBay. I've bought a number from there for under $10. Best searches are 'race banner', 'racing banner' and 'car banner'.
