Finally got the shop done,I think!

Love it, love it, love it! Brilliant! Congratulations, the place looks awesome. I can see your hard work and investment.

Bumping this up to the top

I'm glad you did too because the first time I forgot to ask, Either Mike or any of the east coasters that wash in your garage, is there just a certain water proof paint or coating you put on the walls? Or are most of the garages bricks/cinder blocks?

I wash in the garage only, I hate waterspots. The sun is my biggest enemy detailing + menzerna hates the sun too. You just need to evac water quickly when you wash. The first step is making sure the garage is designed right. A good builder can make a garage "almost" level with a slight tilt so the water drains out. Next step is a solid epoxy coat, I don't use race deck or tiles for that reason alone. I just squeegee out the water once the wash is done. As far as the walls, they completely waltrac so water just beads right off an usually washes off any polish that flies around every once in while.

If you plan on washing in the garage just remember keep everything off the floor or on wheels.

Congratulations on the shop! when Pats show up he'll be needing a wash, so don't let a customer go home with a dirty car.....:D

What is the waltrac? I really hope to do up my garage some day so I can wash in there. Here in California most garage walls are just open wood studs, sometimes drywalled. I have to wash my cars either very late in the day or what I do most of the time be outside 20-30 mins before the sun peaks over the mountains if I don't want water spots.

I'll post up pictures for ya so you can see. I'll make a separate though, don't want to high jack from this awesome garage.

Like Driver I always wash in the garage (but do pull the cars out for a quick pressure wash before hand washing). My walls are dry wall over wooden studs. I painted them with an exterior house paint in light grey--that was 5 years ago and they look as good as the day I painted them.

Nice looking shop. Hopefully I can post pics of mine in the near future when it's finished.
On a side note, what type of LED light is that on the wall? The long, thin one.

Since that time we have added a few cabinets, but the biggest change is we now have changed to all LED lights. What a difference in both illumination and power usage!
