Its been a while since both of our vehicles have looked this good at the same time.
First up is our 1999 740il, she now has 117k miles. Chris and I did a full rear suspension replacement back in April, sooner or later I will get the front done.
It has been since June of last year that I gave it a full polishing. There are a few spots that have some bird crap etching in the clear. But as usual I don't have time to give it a full polishing. I applied some Blackfire sealant 4 months ago and the level of protection had diminished to a point where it needed something. Blackfire is so easy to use, I can't complain about 4 months of protection.
Sorry no before shots.
I washed the paint with Z7. I'm waiting on some O rings for my PW so no foam shots.
Wheels cleaned with MWB 1:4 and some brushes. I'd really like to replace the wheels, but I just put new tires on over the last 6 months.
Tires/wells cleaned with ARO 1:4.
Since its been 14 months since the last polishing. I wanted to do some kind of polishing, but did not have all day to mess around. So I decided to use ZAIO on a white flat classic LC pad with my XPPC. I worked it in a speed 6 over the entire car, then came back to wipe it clean. Needless to say the paint looked much better.
I thought about going staight to one coat of Z5pro, but saw that bottle of Zaino Clear Seal calling to me. I thought it does not get any easier then ZCS, so I applied ZCS to the paint and trim. The temp was in the 80s and the humidity was in the low 70s, but the Clear Seal was still cured in under 15 mins.
I applied Z-16 to the tires while waiting and then finished off the paint with Z8.
A quick vac and interior glass cleaning was all the interior would get today.
My wife had taken the car out after my cleanup, but when she returned the sun was out so I got these pics.
14 months and only some slight wash induced marring?
Next up is my 2007 GMC Denali 1500. It shows 22k miles now and besides for getting a window track lubed and a small recall, I have had no issues with this truck. If I totalled this truck tomorrow I would be at the GMC dealer the next day getting a new one. So yes I still LOVE this truck!!!
A few months ago I got to give it a good exterior cleanup, ZPC polishing and 3x of Z2pro.
Today I gave it a good Z7 wash. Wheels, wells and tires cleaned with ARO 1:4. Applied some Z8 after drying and the tires got Z-16.
I have not done a full interior on her in a while. So that would be my area of concentration today.
I started by doing a full vac. I have some rubber mats in the front so the carpets stay pretty clean.
I then cleaned all the hard surfaces with 1Z einszett Plastic Vinyl Deep Cleaner "Plastik-Reiniger."
The same was protected with 1Z einszett Vinyl-Rubber Care & Protectant "Tiefenpfleger"
I then cleaned the interior glass with the Invisable Glass Reach & Clean Tool & IG.
Leather surfaces cleaned and conditioned with Zaino Z9/10.
All "wood" trim cleaned and protected with ZAIO.
Sorry about the crappy interior pic and not washing the rubber mat.
