Feel free to bogart anything off it you want!

You do all that for $75, how long does a detail take you? How do you make any money?

I've always taken care of my own cars, but I once bought a used BMW 5 series, and in the file of reciepts from the previous owner there were several for complete details all in the 350-500 range. Wish you lived near me, I'd be hiring you.

I've done jobs like that for less. For some people it is worth it to take a cut in profit to just get the word out. I consider part of my fees the discount I'm giving them. If I do a $100 job for 50 then that's just $50 bucks worth of advertising that I put out there. Volume in business is sometimes worth more than maximum profit. I'm sure that Scott charges more for his services now. When you are just starting out or are trying to build a customer base, you sometimes have to take the cut to get your name out there.

I like the flyer. Very professional looking. :xyxthumbs Some things don't change, eh Scott? Things still look just as professional around your business. :up

That flyer is about 6 years old. My absolute minimum charge for a detail is $85 now, but just for small, well maintained cars. Most cars end up a bit over $100 and SUVs can reach $150-175, depending on condition.

No way in the Dallas area could I get $350-500, too much competition. I am within the normal range for my area.

How do you hand wash someone's car if you go to their office? Do you bring your own water supply?

I bring my own water and wash cars with Protect Alls Quick and Easy Wash (do a search in the detailing forum for more info). I only need a gallon per car and carry about 6 gallons with me.
