Finally a comprehensive review of the best bulbs out there...

Get the Alzo's or the Enko's, the rest are garbage.

Was wondering if you have any long term reports on these bulbs. I'm about to pull the trigger on purchasing 6 of either the 85w or 105w CFLs but I keep reading unfavorable reviews on bulbs which look to be the same and possibly just rebranded.

Been getting alot question on it, so here's how to build it. Hope this helps!

My new mini setup uses par 30's the par 38's are too big.

What you'll need...

Eco smart Par 30 Bulb x 2

Studiohut DOUBLE AC Flash Light Stand Swivel Mount x 1

Cowboy Studio Lighting / Umbrella Etc. Stand Holder Small Extendable 16 - 42 x 1

For anyone attempting to build this excellent light stand it should be noted that EcoSmart bulbs (carried by Home Depot) are no longer available as single diode LEDs in the store. However, Lowes does carry a line of both PAR 30 and 38 LED floods with a single diode design.

Mine are still going strong, it's been over two years of garage work and being blasted with the pw every once in a while, they are still holding up fine. :)

The reason I started this thread was create an alternative to them. Those long lights are good but take up a lot of space, need ballast upgrades for higher output and for those of use who have short bay garages, the garage door up interferes with any hope of a full light coverage.

Personally my favorite setup would be a diffused led tube light setup for work, not ideal for correction though. You need a single point source for corrections.

Great post thank you! Quick Noob question. Are your outlets 120 or 240 voltage? I am wondering if you'd be getting enough voltage out of a single outlet with 4 Alzo 84 watt to provide power to yield the bulbs' "maximum potential". Some of the splitters I'd looked at said that the voltage for each outlet would be reduced...
