Fillers

I have been visiting autopia for some time now and have been detailing part-time now for a few years (or at least I thought I was detailing). I have learned so much over the past 6 months and have progressed in my detailing skills. I believe I need more confidence when it comes to swirls. Would like to eventually get a rotary...down the road, in the mean time getting comfortable w/ my pc. My question is how do I know what products generally contain fillers? Products I normally use are ssr 2.5, klearkote vanilla moose hand glaze, aio, and poorboys sealant/wax. Any help would be appreciated.

To see if it has fillers, wipe down the surface with some isopropyl alcohol after you have polished. If the swirls reappear, then you're probably working with fillers.

You could also apply the product by hand to an area, since you have to work pretty hard to do any real swirl removing by hand. If the swirls appear to be lessened after the gentle application of that product, you have a polish with fillers on your hands.

The ISO alcohol trick works too.
