Greg Gellas
I'm Greg :)
It was a boring SUNDAY...I just finished up the Lexus Paint Restoration And was tired, doesn't matter cause the little lady said to me the other day, "look at my car and your a detailer" :grrr So I decided I would just do a one step on it to make it look good then seal it for the winter. Sure enough....
One step turned into SIP on a wool pad down to 203 on orange, finishing out with 106 on a white pad. Then ex-creme glazing...I will top it with opti-seal...
I couldn't just do the paint either, I had to try out glass scrub that I had bought from DI, you can see the review on that here...
Glass Science Scrub Review This is the canvas I was starting with...:argue I have told her to take better care of the dam car, Lemme tell you her interior is spotless I guess it was me on the exterior dropping the ball...
Did some 50/50’s got some good correction….The thickness was getting a little low so I didn’t want to take off toooo much.
I did the trunk section also. It was pretty hammered…Dam people.
You can see from the 50/50 I needed the wool pad.
All Fixed
One area that is always a concern for people is under the door surrounds. I have been testing this for a while. It takes a VERY steady hand but I am able to remove the scratches with a 3â€ wool pad on the rotary. You can get about ¼ of it under there from either side, top and bottom. The key is to make sure the backing plate does NOT hit the handle. Keep a VERY close eye to ensure that you DON'T hit anything but the pad to the paint.
I also hit up that scratch above the handle
And all fixed…
