Few Questions

Hey,

I have a Metallic Red '99 Corolla.

Here are the questions that I have:

1. Should I use Mothers or Meguiars cleaners/wax?

*I'm leaning more towards Mothers as the reviews seem more favorable

2. Has anybody had any experience with Black Magic shampoo?

3. What are good shampoos for a) removing wax and b) gentle shampoos for weekly/bi-weekly washes that won't strip wax AND are available at most stores such as Wal-Mark, Canadian Tire etc.

NOTE: This is a daily driver. It's parked in an underground garage, however, during the day it's parked beside a manufacturing facility and sometimes gets sawdust over it. That's why i'm ruling out those pricier waxes, as I don't think they're going to be worth it for my use.

Thanks,

Max

I have used both and like Mothers much better.

Mothers has two, if you can find Mothers Reflections you will be very happy with it.

Also think whatever you use you should use Mothers clay bar first, really makes a big difference.

Hope this helps.

I'm with Bob. I like the Mothers carnauba cleaner wax and their Reflections. And I agree using a clay bar before waxing makes a real diff, worth the $10 or so.

As for shampoos, to remove old wax most any household detergent will do. For regular washing why not stick with Mothers? It'll work fine as will many other car-only shampoos.

Try doing a search for "canada" or something to find some good threads about where to buy goodies on our side of the 49th parallel. :xyxthumbs

If you really want durability, check out Zaino.

It has made me a believer.

Meguiars Gold Class shampoo can be found at Canadian Tire., as well as the Mothers; I'm sure they work very similarly.

I have had luck with both Mothers liquid carnauba, as well as Megs Gold Class waxes- take your pick, and they're also both at Can. Tire.

If you have any Parts Source stores near you, check them out.

They are owned/run by Can. Tire, but are specific to auto parts and accessories, and carry cleaning and polishing supplies not found in the normal Can. Tire stores.

Hope this helps!

MaxTo Welcome: FYI a 16 ounce bottle of Klasse All-In-One cost about 22 dollars US plus shipping. It takes about 2 ounces to do a car and last about 4 months. You can do the math but it is not expensive and in your climate and conditions it is a better value than a wax.
