Few questions from a newb with a PC.

I used the pc for the first time on my beater a week or two ago and have some questions. I am using Menzerna polishes and country pads. I usually polish with a medium cut at around 5k rpm, then light cut around 4k, then glaze at 3k. 6k seems out of control and vibrated horribly. I think it was cause I was using 6.5 pads with a 5'' backing plate. I plan on buying 5" pads before detailing my baby. Anyway onto the questions:

1. How do you clean the pads when you are through?

2. Do you clean the pads as you go along? How?

3. After I pull the tape off of the edges, the line that is left is extremely difficult to remove, any tips on this?

4. Can the PC7424xp be used to buff headlights to get the haze removed?

Thanks for any input guys!

1. Optimum Power Clean or other APC

2. Use terry cloth towel (method often mentioned by Mike Phillips)

After I pull the tape off of the edges, the line that is left is extremely difficult to remove, any tips on this? IPA mixture (50/50 or so)

4. Yes, works good with 4in pads.

1. What technique? Let them soak in it?

4. What type of polish do you use? I was thinking plastix from meg's.

I liberally spray with OPC, let sit for a while, and then rinse well. Dawn can work but it needs a lot more rinsing to get th Dawn out.

Yes, Meg's Plastx works fine on headlights.
