Well guys, I placed a CMA order today and my Klasse group buy should be in soon too. So I plan on doing a major cleaning next week or the next. I plan on clay, smr w/pc, aio, sg, sg, sg,sg then a topper. Now my problem!

I have been using a sheep skin mitt for quite a while. The autopian concensus seems to be chenille is the best(correct?). Presently CMA doesent have the mitts, no vikings anywhere in town! What should I do? Can anyone point me somewhere where I can order a 100% cotton one? Is sheepskin OK? Thanks in advance!

Oh and also, do I need to clay since im doing the smr?

P.S.

Oh and I did a search and found lots of: why chenille is the best, but nowhere to purchase!

Sorry for the rambling!

Thanks

Ahhh- just go with the sheepskin (I'm gonna hear it about this one :) - seriously - although I think consensus is that chenille is better (because there's less chance of scratching) - I think you'd see any damage that the sheepskin you've been using has created by now. Just next time you place an order, add a chenille to the basket.

If you have membership at Costco, I try buying it from them. They carry a set of sheepskin wash mitts for 6 bucks. Great deal and they are real sheepskin. One thing about Costco is that they don't always carry the same thing week after week. Its a hit and miss, so if you see it buy it.

I picked up a couple of Viking mitts at Kragen about a week ago. They had the 100% cotton and the other Viking mitts. You have to look carefully to make sure you get the right ones (100% cotton).

I looked at tacscar and they had chenille mitts but they dont say 100% cotton, those oh so magic words. I was able to locate some 100% cotton mitts so now I am in the clear! Thanks for everyones help!

The cotton seeds were a concern. I remember someone saying that about the mitts being the same. Thanks for all the input!

I just received my microfiber mitt from Pinnacle. Upon careful inspection, I noticed the cotton seeds. When I called the company, They told me that there was a problem, however, the seeds would not hurt the cars finish! They are going to send me another mitt. Whats everyones opinion, should I use the new one or what? Also, is it true that the seeds will not harm the finish of the car? BTW, I searched for cotton seeds, and came up with nothing.:nixweiss

I would definately not use a cotton seeded mitt, just to be sure. Last time there was a mitt famine ;) the more fortunate Autopians who had access to 100% mitts helped out the guys (especially in Ohio) who don't have access. I personally would go for a cotton blend if I were really desperate.

A micro fiber wash mitt had cotton seeds?????

How can that be? Did it not come shipped in a sealed plastic bag? Plus they do not have Cotton in them except for maybe the interior backing.

Can you post a pic please? I am very curious about this. Seems very strange.

My mitt is still in the original bag from Pinnacle (never opened)! It is indeed the microfiber mitt. I thought these were cotton. btw, the only reason I thought these were seeds is because thats what the girl at pinnacle stated. I described it as small debris to her. I can't photograph wont pick up detail. As I said they are sending me another. deserttoy

Interesting indeed. The micor fiber mitts are made from Polyester and polymide like regular micro fiber mitts.

That is strange though. I would be curious as to their explanation as how seeds got in there or debris or whatever they end up calling it.

Good Luck on the replacement one!

I have access to the 100% cotton Vicking mits that kragen (or checker or shucks) carries. If anyone really wants some i can get them... i think they are like 3 bucks a piece.
