please recommend product/products which will soften my leather seat on my 6-month old lexus. my wife unintentionally used a cleaner not recommended for leather and made my seats hard and discolored. i have used zaino cleaner and conditioner, it looks ok when wet, but the leather becomes hard when dry. am i asking too much to regain the original softness? please help!

the car was neglected, got some water too and the result was ....see the before pictures: mold everywhere: doors , dash , seats , trims , everywhere!
all being leather i went with 2 passes of meguiar`s leather cleaner conditioner and a soft brush, the towels i wipe with had some green dirt of them after wipe.
plastic trims got meguiar`s m40 , and some of them optimum protectant.
Main focus was to bring interior in a better shape, and even with that the leather may need some more work.the car is a project and will see some body work too. NO Paint Correction here , was just wash with onr and got some wax s100.
seats and doors has a lot of scuffed in the leather.
sorry guys , no car show here! just some light improvement in interior.
total time 5 hours 1/2

There's no doubt you made a HUGE improvement to the interior! I'm sure you also improved the smell of the interior as well!!! I've never seen that much mold and mildew on a vehicle.:D:scared:

What a shame. Nice makeover. However..

If I were you, I would NOT spend too much time INSIDE that car with the windows closed no matter how nice it looks on the surface. I would pull the seats out, Pull the carpets, dash and door panels out and start cleaning and disinfecting from the roots up. Mold that bad is alive deep in that car and will reappear at least as airborne spores that can get you REALLY sick. That said...

You can revive it if you do it right. That TR is a diamond in the rough. Certainly its a diamond worth polishing. Please know, experts will always be able tell if when a car has taken on water. Personally that is a project I would LOVE to have. You are lucky to be able to bring an absolute classic back to form. It will be a tremendous amount of fun. Enjoy it. I would.

Be safe from all that mold, wear the right mask and gloves and to me everything needs to come out and be deep clean or replace. It's a serious hearth hazard to you and anyone riding in it. Shame it happen to a great car.:wizard:
