Ferrari F-430 Scuderia Exterior Correction

Identical car to the one I completed a few weeks ago, this car was MUCH easier in one regard but as I am spoiled working in the shop with a lift my old bones let me know today how much I need it(scissor lift) and how tough mobile jobs can be with limited light and a bathroom not always close by.

This car had very little defects that I have come to expect from Ferrari, but this car is no doubt one of the best cars in the world period. I would only find a few sand scratches but the rear bumper has a few blend marks that could not be corrected(customer was shown the small defects) so all in all the car came out beautiful.

This was a exterior detail and engine wipedown, also corrected the marring on the carbon door shells.

This was the only bad RID, which corrected easily.

As the paint was typical ceramic hardness I levelled with the wool.

As mentioned earlier, just a wipedown on the engine, and polishing off the exhaust can.

It was early evening so no sun pics, cloudy today in the Bay Area anyway.

This pic looks like a Ferrari press release pic(sans the car in someone's garage lol).

Very nice as usual for you Bob. The change of scenery can be nice when working mobile, but it can also make for some tough days as well without all your tools and equipment easily available. Good to see an old man getting out and about!

Excellent work Bob!

I have done a few Ferrari's and can offer that the 430s have a much harder clear then a 360. As Bob noted the 430s have an actual ceramiclear or that type of clear.

Don't burn through the paint......................:nono (lol).

All kidding aside, as noted the paint is hard and there WILL BE sand scratches count on it. Also when engaging reverse there will be a jump as the engine throttles down.

The wheels have a matte finish, and they can be polished lightly and sealed for protection.

The engine cover is a poly carbonate/composite which will be a pain to clear up with hard to reach areas, the truss bars will need to be removed to get every part of the cover and be careful removing the hex bolts as they can drop in the engine or hit the carbon drip rails.

85RD with the hydro crimson pad and speed 3 on a DA/polisher followed by CG EZ Creme works real well, however there wil be polish marks engrained in the cover that cannot be corrected.

The carbon seat backs will need correction(Mario Bros induced sand scratches will be waiting for you).

Just take your time Tru Shine and enjoy working on a special car to acheive the "Tightness" the car deserves.
