Ferrari and a Jag

I'll start off with the Jag since it was the most work taking 7 1/2 hours total. This is the same owner of the 57 Blue Chevy Bel Air I just did and after his wife saw it she wanted her Jag done the same way.

It's a 200-2001 Jag S-type and get regular wash and interior cleanings from the dealership....

The owners let their dog ride in the back seat which of course are white leather and dogs just don't understand what that means....:wall

I spent over 2 1/2 hours just on the interior alone then corrected and deswirled all the paint.

I'll start with some interior pics.

My process on the interior was basically :

Dust everything out,

Shampoo carpet, leather, doors, matts and basically everything else,

303 wipe down

Zaino leather cleaner after shampoo'ing

Zaino leather condition

Basically I deep cleaned everything 3 times to get it up to my standards.

Here you can really see the layers of dirt from the dog.

After a lot of cleaning....the sun had come out so the pic will be different lighting, but I'm sure you'll be able to tell the difference

I'm sure this door is where the dog stands to stick his head out the window

after, nearly like new again.

A serious stain from a Margarita mix or something like that.

DSC03185.jpg

No matter what I did, this just wouldn't come out, even after letting it soak for quite a while and multi treatments, I was very disappointed.

The dog loved to stand on this armrest, but I forgot to take before pics

Here's the after, you can image it looked very similar to the back seats

Next up, paint correction.....

This was a silver car so it was a bit difficult to see the swirls, but with sunglasses on it makes it much easier and you don't get blinded by direct sun in the eyes.

My process was basically:

Wash,

Clay,

1 pass with the rotary and a LC white pad at 1500rpms with Menz IP

Zaino AIO to finish up.

The clear on this Jag was incredibly soft and it only took one pass to make it perfect, I was suprised since the swirls were pertty moderate on this car.

Here's some pics of the swirls, they may be harder to see on the silver car.

Swirls

about 1 1/2 - 2 feet over on the hood afters

DSC03204.jpg

To be honest it's very hard to see the swirls as there was a little cloud cover that blocked them in the reflection.

Next up Ferrari Boxer

Ummm, that margarita mix looks like it might have been mixed with some quacamole and other ingredients in a human blender then "extracted" from said human blender and deposited on that floor mat after a few more shots of tequila caused an involuntary eruption.

:grinno:

I did a 1960 F250 GT a few weeks ago at a Ferrari shop here locally and next thing I know the shop is calling me to come start working on cleaning up there Ferrari's and Lambo's for the owners before they pick them up.

This last week was a 1981 512BB (boxer)

This was not a full correction or anything, just a simple, clay, Zaino and interior detailing.

First up some interior shots.

Basically I wiped it down with 303, then treated all the leather with Zaino leather cleaner.

Engine got wiped with a damp MF to knock the dust off it.

Exterior got clayed, Zaino AIO to finish off.

It's really amazing how much darker the seats and all leather panels were afterwards.

Now onto the engine bay. I just wiped it down with a damp MF, nothing special.

The Italians definately understood cold air intakes....

Next up glamour shots.....

Now onto the exterior.

Just a simple clay, and Zaino AIO and she's looking good.

I'll be honest the clay was trashed afterwards as it nearly turned it all black. It was pretty heavily contaminated.

Lost of small scratches and swirls on this paint, but I was not performing a polishing process so it got what it got. Maybe the owner will have me go the full 9 yards after he picks it up.

I had very limited space to take pics as it was misting outside so I had to snap them in the shop.

That's always a possability, but I don't think these two are the partying type. Both much older....:thx

Nice work on both, Josh. :up

That Jag was a real pit when you started. Got a customer with a BMW 750 who allows their dog to do the same crap to their interior. Unbelievable!

The Ferrari is awesome!

I got the same deal when I detailed a Carrera at a shop that specializes in Porsches as you did with the Ferrari shop. Nice when that happens, eh?

Great work Josh. I am sure working in the Ferrari shop must be heavenly...:xyxthumbs

Well it's not bad....:lol

It's pretty cool to be surrounded by such sweet machines, but kind of like torcher too cause they all have swirls and I can't do anything about it....

I love hearing them tuning them or watching them mount an engine like in the background of the pics posted. Every now and then they have to take one out and make sure the tune is right and I can here it down the road going through the first 3 gears, it's pretty nice sounding.

The shop saw the work I did on that 1960 250GT and was very impressed, next week I'm supposed to have a silver 355.:woohoo:

Josh, Excellent work! The hood shots of the jag are spectacular and the interior looks better then new after the abuse it went thru. Paint and interior on the Ferrari look great as well.

Don't feel to bad about the yellow stain. Red and yellow are the hardest stains to remove from carpet. A good product to use on this is called Stain Magic, available at Magicwandco.com. Its what alot of professional carpet cleaners use. Cars look great by the way.

Awesome work you did on both rides Josh! Can't wait for more of them......:xyxthumbs

Thanks, me either, I just wish I could do more. The shop is just having me clean them up well, but I have to convince the owners that they need full correction, so in essense, I could be doing two details on the same car....
