Features of Autopia v2.0

Well, my 2 cents is that I don't like it at all.

The layout looks horrible on my 24" monitor. I much prefer the prior layout.

Im with Rob.

Its very hard to not notice how much it takes the focus away from the forum and how much focus it puts on it looking like a store front. The simple decrease in the topic bars is a good indicator.

With everything online now being about a business these days ,it seems like "Autopia" is now trying to be a direct competitor to Autogeek(esp considering they are dropping sponsors) and unfortunately for the members is beginning to take away from the community feeling and focus more on "sell sell sell" and less on the knowledgeable members helping the new members get going.

You see it on all the other forums too, people just try to market everything to everyone else, some are just not as smooth as others about it. I have seen a ton of hyped products that just end up being an average result for a slightly more expensive price. Oh what commercialism has become..

Yes, I agree.

I am finding it to be annoying to try and navigate the site now. Things are all messed up. The font size isn't right on my Mac, and when I increase it, I get overlapping text.

Sorry, but the truth of the matter is that if it stays like this, I will be posting here much less. There are many other detailing forums that have a better layout that use VBulletin.

Autopia 1.0 was crafted over 9 years of tweaks. Surely you guys can wait out improvements. I also have a 24" iMac and I don't see any problems like Rob is. But I am also not blind as a bat and bumping font sizes up which will break formatting.

LOL.

I'm not blind as bat, but thanks for the demeaning response.

If Autopia 1.0 was crafted over 9 years of "tweaks" as you say, and people were happy with it (I sure was, and I don't know why anybody would not have been happy with it), then why bother going to a completely different format?

Does the term "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" have any meaning to you?

And thanks for confirming that if you increase the font size, it does, in fact, screw up the formatting.

Bring back the old format.

Please.

I might have missed it somewhere but what about the Gallery?

Are all of the uploaded pictures gone or is it in the plan to restore them?

I don't like it. Its like all the threads have been narrowed (page width) and it just looks old. Reminds me of AOL days. I am really not a fan of the new layout. Please change the formatting for the forum (at least) back. The site itself is fine, but its not a good change for the forum.

Exactly, it is very narrow. I'm using half the width of my 24" screen and it looks ridiculous.

The new version handles new posts differently. You can click on the 'What's New' Tab for new posts or if you click on Home, you will see Recent Posts on the right hand side. Once you read a post, it goes away from that list as a new post.

Great idea!

I'd bet that they don't care what we think though.

We do care about what you think. We know that the old version was very popular, but the new features in this version far outweigh anything that was lost. We know the structure is different, but its much more modern and in the direction a lot of forums and websites are going. It may take some time to get used to, but its packed with goodies.

So what exactly are the goodies connected with having a very narrow page and pictures that are tiny compared to before?
