Favorite tire dressing?

I used to love Turtle Wax Tire Gel. Unfortunately, they don't make it any more.

I've seen others post this, too. But I saw tons of it on sale, today, along with all the other TW products. Maybe it's gotten harder to find, in some areas, but here in Louisville, you can get all you want at Meier. It remains my favorite.

Armor All (original shine) applied with Eagle tire swipes. One coat, move car so you can get the part of the tire that was on the ground then a second coat. Very even, satiny sheen, lasts through a couple of rain days and a wash, no sling.

MartyGrant,

You say to use 3M Tire Dressing if you care about your tires.

The MSDS on this stuff says in contains petroleum distillate 60%- 100% by weight. How can something that contains this much PD possibly be good for tires?

I use 303. Looks great, lasts long, is not a dust and dirt magnet. It also has the best UV protection you can get and contains no PD'S or silicone. This is the stuff you should use if you care about your tires.

Since nobody has mentioned it yet, I like Poorboy's Trim restorer. It leaves the tires a very flat, dark, black, like how rubber is supposed to look. It gives that "This tire is supposed to grip the road, not slide around" kind of look. It lasts about 3 weeks, even through rain. I apply with a foam brush and scrub off with a terry towel

Sorry, but that really doesnt look good at all. :down

Maybe I just like a glossier finish. I just think it looks dull :nixweiss

It doesn't even look like there's anything on that tire? :nixweiss
There is definitely something on that tire, and it's just very low-gloss. A look that I somewhat prefer actually, as I mainly dress tires just to keep them looking black and not shiny. If it wasn't dressed it'd look a lot flatter and grey than that.

The tread shoulders look a tad brown, but that could be just the lighting or something...

Whatever dressing you use, I feel it's important to thoroughly clean and re-dress the tires with every wash to keep them looking good.

It depends on which tyres I'm doing.I love 1Z Tiefenpfleger on Falkens but it just doesn't work on my P Zero's.For them,I use Zymol Protectant.ZP works for me on most.

After trying 4 different ones, my favorite is Z16.

It does leave a nice dark satin finish with just a bit of gloss. The dripping wet shiny look is too much for me.

It's got the consistency of milk so I use a terry cloth covered sponge. I apply once around the tire and then immeditaley wipe off excess with the dry side of the sponge. No sling and dries in about 5-10 min. I put two coats on.

Lasts about 3 full washes. Probably longer but its so easy to put on I just re-do it every 3 washes.

Now that is what I am talking about. :up

This thread really shows that different people like differnet looks. The people who didn't like the MDX's wheels are looking for it to shine like it's got salad dressing on it, which is just too much for me. I like a very low shine satin.

The Armor All I use is not the tire foam, though I have treated my engine bay with that before. It's a cleaner as well as a treatment. I did try it on one of my wife's tires, but it didn't seem to hold up to rain like the AA Original does.

I buy AA Original in half gallons for $10 at Wal-Mart.

Tires are looking good. :xyxthumbs

Me and my boys would say, "bling-bling." :p

What product is that? Imho, it is nothing worse then seeing a dull looking tire. :nono The truck and Viper above are perfect examples. The tires make the detail. If your tires look dull then the rest of the car looks dull to me.

I have been using Armor All ... its the right color, nice and black, just enough gloss, but it tends to leave my tires brown if i leave it on for too long (more than 2-3 weeks). When this can is done, i'll move on, but its been good enough

Antonio, that is two caost of Autoglym Tyre Dressing or Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber care. Both are the same product one just has fragrance.

I apply one coat with a brush to get an even finish, allow to dry and then spary on a second coat which i just leave to dry.

Hey guys, I went to my local auto store today and picked up some Armor All after reading that alot of you guys over in the US use it on your tires. Seeing as I'm in the UK, I just wanted to see if it's the same stuff that you all use...

I cant remember the last time i used that stuff. I used to use it on my wheel arches but a trade size five litre AG Vinyl and rubber is proving good for that!
