***Favorite QD?***

In order and why

Aussie Gold Showroom Glaze - slickest and most protective QD on the market

Lasts six months, machine applyable, restores any surface

Driven to perfection quick spray. 473ml makes a gallon

has heaps of sealant in it. machine applyable, makes paints look like a pool of water under glass when machine applied.

Quite slick, superb cleaning ability

DG FC&S - slick, fantastic cleaning ability, adds to the finish alot, can be added to car wash soaps for more suds, better lubrication and sheeting

Prima Slick - damn slick, damn shiny, fine for use on dashboard, door trims etc

Einszett Lackfinish Raindance - makes water vanish in seconds when diluted

473ml makes two litres or so

As for cleaning Meg's products are my favorite. Quik Detailer, Last Touch Spray Detailer, and #34. For gloss and protection, 425, Quickshine, Meg UQD

425 gives more *bling, if you will, compared to Speed Shine. although Speed Shine is still a more than serviceable QD. Along with their car wash soap and a couple other things, I think it's one of Griot's better products.

Big fan of DG 521 (the marine version of FC&S 921). Excellent cleaning ability and leaves a great slick, glossy shine. Works well with the other DG products especially AW and 501 and 105 sealants. I use it on paint, glass and rims. Smells pretty good too.

Supposedly it has some decent UV protection and anti-static properties.

I agree. 425 is shinier and slicker, but I think some of the magic of Speed Shine, in my experience, is that it doesn't add to or detract from my LSP. It lets the LSP shine through which is what I like if I'm using a carnauba.

I like 521, too. I like it even more now that I added about 1oz. of AW to my 4/5 full bottle of 521. It just pumps it up a bit.

425 is a poly, synthetic spray. It's slicker and glossier than Speed Shine. It doesn't seem to clean as well to me, and in fact FK has a QD that is geared more towards cleaning whereas 425 is meant more as a last touch to add some pop.

I personally think Meg's UQD has better looks than either, and it's also a joy to use. I like Speed Shine because it doesn't really seem to add to or take away from my LSP. It removes dust, minor road grime, finger prints, etc. with no fuss and no streaks.

If you're happy with UQD, I would keep using it after washes for some pop and Speed Shine between washes for maintenance. Or even better, try some Zaino Z8 for use after washing. That stuff is truly amazing but is not meant to be a QD in terms of cleaning ability. I use it strictly for the wow factor on clean paint.

Thanks :up

Majestic Solutions quick shine (its pink) and buy it 5 gal at the time at a cost of 13$ a gal. Due to the severe water restrictions and to make product last longer, I dilute this stuff 1:1 with DI/RO water. this makes the product last longer and increases my profit.....we need RAIN!

Pats, I like it alot. It is good for a nice quick dust remover, good for doing tinted glass, and

mixed 1 to 1 with water for clay lube. I have used it to remove a ball scuff on the hood of a car before. It smells good also.

MDRX8, try google like Pats said.

Hot Rod Detailer is the new 425! :woot:

Quickshine is great is my fav. as it doesnt leave anything on the surface. Mothors Showtime is a just slightly more mild version QS and you can get in Walmart for about $5.

Now that G35 brought up the temperature issue, I have a streetrod that we take to shows frequently and typically its in the sun. Throughout the show I try not to wipe it down too much depending on where the show is held the cars can get pretty dusty. With that said does anyone have a recommendation for a QD for this scenario?

I have a couple of street-rods and I have struggled with this one, something to clean the bugs off and keep the dust down at car shows and not mar the surface. I have a cabinet full of QDs some of them are Z6, Z8, 425, CM, VW QD, Megs. Mothers, Quick Shine and more those are just the ones off the top of my head but the one I always use is Spray and Wipe from Poorboys. What I do is spray the front fenders and let soak for about a minute and the bugs come off without any paint damage - then I will use it on the rest of the car. Then sometimes I will go PS Spray wax or Aqua Wax or CM to put the finial touch on the car.

Doesn't Mothers have alcohol in it?

I just used my 425 on my car that I used OCW on about 2 days ago and the whole car was full of streaks when I finished. Broke out with the Poor Boys Spray and Gloss and it took care of all the streaks... Love Poor Boys
