***Favorite QD?***

I'm not worried about cleaning abilities that much or the bottle type, lol, because ill be buying it by the gallon most likely. Thanks for the recommendations so far guys, 425 looks like the first pick right now.

Adams.

I've tried Mother's and Black Magic and wasn't satisfied with the results. And Meg's is decent but mainly for clay work.

Griot's Speed Shine. If you guys haven't tried this stuff, you're missing out. This is a GREAT product, and is easily my favorite detailing product. I highly recommend it if you haven't tried it out yet.

Now that G35 brought up the temperature issue, I have a streetrod that we take to shows frequently and typically its in the sun. Throughout the show I try not to wipe it down too much depending on where the show is held the cars can get pretty dusty. With that said does anyone have a recommendation for a QD for this scenario?

   Griot's Speed Shine is the hidden gem around here. It's an absolute joy to use. It cleans well, it doesn't streak over carnauba or sealant, and it has a pleasant fragrance. It leaves a little carnauba behind so you wouldn't want to use it between layers of sealant without a wash first.

Other great QD's are Adam's, Z6 with Zaino and over other sealants, Sonus offerings, Pinnacle Crystal Mist, Prima Slick, 1Z Lackfinish, Meg's UQD, Meg's #34 for clay lube, and Poorboy's Spray & Wipe for road trips to clean off the bugs.

I never thought I'd say this, but FK 425 has been growing on me. I have had the same bottle for almost two years now. I couldn't get it to buff clear no matter what for the longest time. I tried it again the other day over Griot's Best of Sow Wax and it was brilliant. I'll be ordering another bottle soon to give it another shot before making up my mind.

On the other side of the coin, I used to love Clearkote Quik Shine but now I just don't really care for it. I think there are better offerings out there.

Adam's or Griot's Speed Shine. Poorboy's also claims use in sun or shade, but I just never really cared much for Spray and Gloss.

I tried the adams spray detailer and got nothing but streaks no matter what i did. I enjoy using meguiars Ultimate Quik detailer along with Meguiars Detailer Final Touch Spray, both leave great finishes imo.

As is a lot of other products in their line. Griot's has some HIGH quality products that perform better than most other stuff that I've used. People who haven't tried any of their stuff are really missing out :(

I have a question though.. Everyone raves about the FK 425. I'm getting curious and almost want to try it, but I don't have a need to since I use Speed Shine all the time, and use Meg's UQD as my back up to my Speed Shine. I use both of these for looks, as I have Poorboy's S&W for cleaning and lifting heavier dirt.

But what I'd really like to know is how the FK 425 Compares to Griot's Speed Shine?

425 is a poly, synthetic spray. It's slicker and glossier than Speed Shine. It doesn't seem to clean as well to me, and in fact FK has a QD that is geared more towards cleaning whereas 425 is meant more as a last touch to add some pop.

I personally think Meg's UQD has better looks than either, and it's also a joy to use. I like Speed Shine because it doesn't really seem to add to or take away from my LSP. It removes dust, minor road grime, finger prints, etc. with no fuss and no streaks.

If you're happy with UQD, I would keep using it after washes for some pop and Speed Shine between washes for maintenance. Or even better, try some Zaino Z8 for use after washing. That stuff is truly amazing but is not meant to be a QD in terms of cleaning ability. I use it strictly for the wow factor on clean paint.

that's funny, i've had the opposite experience and like the FK425 better. the UQD is still a good product though...
