Favorite OTC Wash Media...

Besides the grout sponge? Looking to replace some tired sheepskin mitts. Not sure if I should order some new ones or look for an OTC replacement. Suggestions appreciated!

I like the muppet-head wash pads at Target (they also have them at Wal-Mart). The Target (Vroom) used to come with terry MF on the other side for $3, but now they are $4 or $5 and have bug mesh on the back. They also have mitts made out of the stuff at both places.

other than the lowes GS, i've been using the SM Arnold sheepskin mitts (thumbless) for many years without any issues...

I just replaced my sheepskins w/ the Vroom chenille pads. They rinse out very quickly w/ a hose nozzle and at 4 bucks or so I picked up five the other day. I haven't tried them in the washer yet but I think they'll do better laundered by hand.

Vroom mitts at Target are good. Also, the Viking products (MF chenille-type mitt and MF towel-like mitt) are pretty nice from Kmart, believe it or not. I've tried OTC synthetic sheepskin (spun stuff) which used to be good from them....but recently they seem too harsh, so I punted!

I like Target & Kmart's stuff better than Walmart's selections these days.

(And, I'll look at Lowes the next time I'm there for a grout sponge...............FYI, the Lowes store here has a small automotive section. I was surprised how good the prices were for some of the products (all OTC, but Meguiar's, ICE/Turtlewax, Invisible Glass, a couple others..........good to know in a pinch. Better prices than the 'marts or Target.)

See ya. :wavey:

Meguiars Lambswool mitts are my fave and I get them for $5 dollars each or buy 3 get the 4th free.

These "muppet head" mitts at target, are these the orange ones that look like little noodles lol? If so I tested these on a cd and it destroyed the cd, so I doubt we are talking about the same ones.

My Wal Mart doesn't carry the Eurow mitts anymore either so I ordered a 4 pack of them from Costco. I may have even read about it on here. IIRC, they were $24.99 for 4 mitts. Guess that's where I'll get them from now on.....until they quit carrying them.

Awesome, thanks to looking on Costco's website, now I'm thinking about a de-ionizer.

Looking to use the media for ONR and conventional washes....So, I am thinking an arsenal of chenille pads, vroom MF mitts, and sheepskin mitts. Good plan?

I wouldn't use any mf mitts or micro-chinelle mitts. I loooooooved my tenticle ones for regular washing, but with the ONR dirt seems to get trapped in them and won't come out - i.e., I take a new one, passes cd test. I ONR a vehicle, rinse it out, and...it fails a cd test (just barely, but a fail is a fail, and will only get worst in time).

For ONR, I only use purple cobra JR mf towels from Autogeek. They're my favorite for removing waxes/polishing/etc..., and i love them for washing now.

I've yet to induce any marring with ONR+purple, and, after using it for 2mths, it's still spotless and passes the cd test with flying colors.
