Favorite One Step?

When your working on a vehicle where you're plan is a one step product what do you find yourself reaching for? What's your favorite one step product and what pad do you use to do the job?
 
D301 on the MF finishing pad. It is the best that I have found. I have also heard that D151 is great with the MF finishing pad. I don't have any D151 or I would tell ya my thoughts. :bigups
 
If we are talking AIOs, then it has to be SONAX Paint Cleaner with a pad that corresponds to the paint hardness.

It depends on what you are looking for.. From my experience.

Autoglym SRP- Excellent at removing minor blemishes, creating gloss, and filling in moderate marks.

Griot's One-Step- This stuff has really nice cutting power. I have seen it remove DA haze EASILY!

Meguiar's D151- Really nice cut (a little more than Griot's) but can be tricky to wipe off in certain conditions.

Meguiar's M66- Super easy to use, in the middle in terms of cut, looks, and durability.

Meguiar's D301 Finishing Wax- It can remove minor swirls (moderate swirls on softer paints) and wipes off EASY. The durability isn't too bad for a one-step, and the look is REALLY nice.

Optimum Poli-Seal- Super SUPER easy to use with incredible wipe-off, good correction with a great finishing ability. It will hide moderate defects but completely removes light defects and leaves the paint glossy and slick.

Poorboy's Polish with 100% Carnauba- Super easy to use and leaves the paint looking very rich. Has good correction and filling ability. I was really impressed with the ease of use, but have no idea on durability.

Zaino AIO- Good correction and really good durability (for an AIO); can be a little tricky to wipe off in Florida's humidity.

Klasse AIO- Okay correction (swirl removal) but really good cleaning ability. Decent wipe-off (if not used too thickly) and great durability.

Well those are just in random thoughts in no order.
 
Are we talking one step corrections or all-in-one products?

If it's one step corrections, where you will add an LSP after I have been using B&S Yellow Pads with Menzerna Power Finish or Meguiars Ultimate Compound with Cyan Pads. both combos have the power to take out pretty heavy defects, while still leaving an almost perfect finish behind.

If we are talking AIO's I have a whole list of them.

If I want the most correction possible it's D151 or Poli Seal on a Tangerine pad.
If I want the most gloss possible, a super quick application, and don't mind some filling it's Prima Amigo on a Tangerine Pad
If I want the best cleaning ability possible (paint that doesn't have tons of swirls, but needs to be cleaned) it's Werkstat Prime Strong on a Tangerine pad. Sometimes I will also use Klasse AIO for a quick boost since it leaves such a glossy finish, but I don't think it has any corrective abilities (at least not much).

I think that’s about it. I tend not to do too many AIO jobs. If I'm doing a wash and wax on a car and have some extra time I might do a quick AIO, but I don't generally sell an AIO package. Also I ALWAYS top an AIO with another LSP. IME the protection from an AIO product is never very good.
 
Poorboys World, Polish with either carnauba or sealant. Both are some of the best that I've used to date.

I like K-AIO for my SS paint Toyota truck and D151 for all the rest......
 
Originally when I posted I was thinking of a product with some correcting ability. I didn't consider products that had protection qualities as well.

I guess we may have different ideas of a one step... I hadn't really thought about it but I can see how one person may feel one step means ONE step while someone else could see a one step as a single polishing step and applying a separate sealant or wax as a single process. I've always applied a dedicated sealant or wax.


I have KAIO and I've used it several times and it has worked well for me. It doesn't have a lot of correction ability but it's nice to use on a well maintained car.
 
Good point made. Are we talking about a 1 step like an All-In-One, as in one step to polish and seal the paint or a 1 step polish (which requires further protection).

As far as 1 step polishes, M105 is probably my favorite on most paint systems (you can finish with it or get a really good finish by cleaning the pad out and making an additional 2-3 passes at lower speed).

If you are working on a dark colored car or soft paint and M105 isn't getting you to the finish level you want Menzerna PO203S, Menzerna Super Intensive Polish, or Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0 all finish really good and have nice cutting power (PO203S cuts a little less but does produce a better finish).

Also Meguiar's So1o polish is excellent for a 1 step, it is a slightly less aggressive version of M105 that tends to finish a little better.

And don't over look Mother's Professional Machine Glaze OR Meguiar's D300 MF Compound either.
