Favorite glass coating

After my disappointment with Gtechniq G1... I'm looking into another glass coating. What's your favorites? I'm looking for something that sheds water at lower speeds but still has really good durability. From my experience, G1 doesnt shed water at anything less than freeway speeds really.

Was thinking about carpros coating but I know others are out there but have zero experience with any of them. Opinions?
 
I was also disappointed with Gtechniq. I feel the product was over hyped. For me you really can't go wrong with DP or Pinnacle Black Label glass coatings. Good durability, easy to use, and reasonably priced.

GTechniq never said that G1 would shed water at lower speeds..as a matter of fact it was stated that G1 would shed water at 50+ and G4 would shed water at 40+. Is there any other reason why you are disappointed with G1?

I'm not seeing it keep anything really clear until at least 45-50mph. I've actually seen better results in terms of my windshield shedding water with rain-x.

I have noticed how it is great at sheeting water and being easier to clean though. So I may still keep is around for side and rear windows simply for the durability it claims. But I want something different for my windshield
 
DP glass coating is pretty easy to use and lasts a really, really long time if you have a garage.

If I were you I'd hold off for Car Pro's new glass coating - Flyby Forte. I think it might be available here in the states, at least I hope so. It looks really impressive.

I have been using Pinnacle Black Label Surface Coating for my windshields. I have been surprised and pleased with the result.

Having said that, I don't get any better water removal than you are describing with the Wolfgang product. However, the PBLSC has proven to be very durable on my windshield which surprised me a bit.

The other benefit of PBLSC is that it is not a single purpose product. It can be used on wheels and paint too. I use it on the wheels of most of my cars at this point. I don't use it on paint because I use PBL paint coating for paint - which lasts significantly longer on paint.

As always, YMMV.

Look into G5, won't last as long as G1, but will shed water at 40 mph.
 
I've used Carpro's Fly-By-30 and it's pretty good. Sheds water at lower speeds but it makes the wipers (when you need 'em) squeak a little.

I just purchased so m Fly-By-FORTE (forty - get the pun). I have not used it yet but I am looking forward to giving it a try very soon.

Been using opti-glass and it last as long as it advertises. I have used it on 6 cars so far and I'm very happy with the results. I don't have a reason to switch until my bottle is empty.

I recently received a bottle of Nanolex Ultra Glass Sealant which advertises to last 18 months so I will be testing this on my daily driver.

I also own CarPro Reload, Sonax BSD, Optimum Car Wax and Rain-x and I have to say those products repel water pretty well although it does not have a 12 months+ durability rating. I use reload, BSD and OCW interchangeably as drying aid or LSP and often I would go through my glass as well. Personally I don't see a big demand to purchase dedicated glass sealant (for my purposes).
