Favorite Choice for Polish and Wax

I'm new to the gameof shine and buff (I've run a valet parking bus. for seven years) and would appreciate any help on products or equipment. Favorite soaps polishes, waxes etc. I'm looking for a good buffer as well. Does anyone have a decent one to get rid of? I want to focus on quality and would prefer to avoid silicone based products as some body work will be done in the shop. Help the newbie?

If your looking for products that are easy to use, in about any weather condition.

The Poorboys line up I think is about as user friendly as it gets. You can use it with a machine or still get great results by hand.

I'd call Steve @ Poorboys and have a talk about what you are looking to do!

Here is what I use of Poorboys products

PB Polish with Carnauba
PB Sealant
Topped with a good wax, currently I'm using Pizazz Brazilian Carnauba, but Nattys wax has got some great reviews

For a buffer try costaltools.com yo can pickup a Porter Cable orbital there for about the best price.

A little more information is needed. What kind of vehicle are these products going to be used on? Color and type actually have a lot to do with what products you use. There is no "general great for everything" kind of suggestion that can be made. Well... I take that back. There are general products that would work great, but if you are looking for the best look that you can get then we need a little more information to suggest the products.

While the Fuzz is correct in his analysis that no prodcut is great for everything, I will back Beemerboy in saying that when it comes to effortlessness (which im not sure is even a word) Poorboy's is a tough product to beat.
 
I agree with The Fuzz but you can't go wrong with Poorboys and 4 Star's Ultimate Series. They both are easy on easy off. They leave your car dazzling.
 
Thanks for the great tips. Is my Uncle nuts? He's an engineer and swears Carnuba yellows car finishes, he swears that you can't buff it out! Someone help me put his story to rest.
 
Previously, it was believed that laying a caranuba would "yellow" the finish...but with newer caranuba based waxes (ie. Pinnacle Souveran or P21s/S100)...layering is possible without any "yellowing".

As far as buffing it out, caranuba will probably just evaporate off the paint after high-temperatures or long-periods of time. Plus, if attacked with a rotary...It will come off. If clear coat comes off with a rotary, wax doesn't stand a chance :)
