Favorite Carnauba

#16 - Very crisp and reflective. Really shows off metallic flake. Can be a PITA if you accidentally apply it too thick. I'll report back on maroon in a few weeks.

Natty's - VERY wet look. Looks great on silver if you're after a wet look. I'll report back on white in a few weeks.

S100 - Wet, warm, and deep. I would rate it as the most "laid back" of waxes but have only used it on black. Didn't quite give the look I wanted but I prefer a crisp and reflective appearance over a deep, warm appearance.

Pinnacle Signature - Haven't tried it yet but will have a coat on my silver car by the end of the weekend and on a silver SUV by Thanksgiving.

#16 is my favorite so far. Natty's looks great and I'll continue using it. Not overly impressed with S100, though it is extremely easy to use.

For me, S100/P21S looks good on just about ANY colour. If you have the extra $ and want a specialized wax that gives a 5 - 10% improvement on dark colours, then Souveran is hard to beat.

You know, I've seen it advertised in a lot a places, but nobody ever talks about Zymol. They have some seriously outrageous prices for their stuff. I mean, I saw some "Concours" Glaze for about 800 and another thing called "Destiny" for about 450!!! What gives?

Zymol is a GOOD product.I not running to buy Zymol because I believe it is average or a littel above average. Two years back I used there more expensive waxes(free loading from a friends uncle who has a car collection not to be believed)they are not worth the money.Im not saying that they don't do the job,Im just saying that the prices are a little crazy

My favorites?

(in no particular order)
S100 - Beads very nicely when freshly applied, comes off easily using a Wipe on / wait / wipe off method.

Natty's - Easy on easy off, hazes quickly so you can take it off

Deep Crystal 3 - a little used or talked about wax that looks good, is nice and slick, and easy to buff off when applied thinly via PC

EX - I just got to try some on my SUV, and I was impressed on its ease of application (via pc) hazed quickly, and buffed out very easily to a nice, deep, rich finish.

I know EX isn't a wax per se, but it gave my 4Runner an impressive deepness and slickness....

I posted a poll a LONG time ago that asked for everyones favorite between Souveran, Natty's and P21S (exactly the same ones this thread asks about). It was basically a toss up since only a couple of votes seperate the choices...here is the link...
http://www.detailcity.com/showthread.php?t=4883

Since then, I've tried them all and they really do perform very similarly. I've never done a direct comparison between them all but right now I think Souveran looks best on my car (which is black). Souveran is also the easiest to work with of the 3. But, I don't think it justifies the price tag. For the money, Natty's will win every time...

I think Souveran is the best I have used on black. For less money and more convenience P21S is my main go-to wax. I am playing with Natty's right now but don't have an opinion yet.

Have used 3 brands on my Velocity Red Mazda3 (red with metallic tinge)

Personally ranked my liking as follows :

1st Trade Secret
2nd Pinnacle Souveran Paste
3rd S100

I played around with Victoria Wax Concours (red) Wax on my red truck before I redid it with UPP and it is some nice looking stuff. I'd have to rank it up there as my current favorite. I am thinking about topping UPP with Liquid Souveran at the moment.

Let me ask a variant of the question:

What carnaubas exist that give a noticeably different look than #16, s100 or Natty's? And when are they worth it? It seems to be a consensus that Souveran is similar to Natty's but a little or a lot better on darker colors depending on your preferences. The price value equation is also a highly subjective call. S100 is soft and easy to use and #16 is very reflective, very durable, but not quite as easy to use.

Others? Especially lesser known cheapies worth playing with.

After all, we all have "enough" [cough, cough] stuff, but we all like to play with different toppers as the mood strikes.

Right now my two favorites are Souveran for dark and Natty's for light. I have a couple others that I will use in combos to see what happens. As of now my favorite wax combo on my dark green is Liquid Souveran over Souveran Paste. I haven't done a wax combo using Natty's.

For the best look:
1. VW Concours
2. Souveran Paste Wax
3. Trade Secret & VW Collector

VW Concours has more pop in the appearance, almost a bit like a cross btwn UPP and NXT tech wax look. Slightly more acrylic look than Souveran, but in a good way. It really brings out the depth better when you see it from an angle. Souveran looks a bit more oily at first sight, but not much depth...especially for metallic color.

For best bang for the bucks yet decent look:
P21S ties with VW's Cruising wax. But then again, if I don't care about the wax look that much, I'd go for polymer base sealant before even considering carnauba wax.

I'm surprised Pinnacle Paste Glaz hasn't come up yet. That's my favorite for lights, but I haven't tried Natty's yet. I will be ordering some soon though.

#16 also gets high marks from me.

For me its Souveran on Red, Black and dark Blue cars. P21S always amazes me on Silver and White.

Cheers
Dave.
