Noting that, IME, the PC is just not in the same league as the Flex...at one time there was something weird about the PC's speed control in that "speed 5.5" wasn't really a setting. Like it had that detent in the dial, but the machine actually went from 5 straight to 6. OR something like that...been ages since I ran my PC at 6 and my memory is foggy, but there was *something* like that about at least one generation of PCs :think:



That said, the PC/speed 4.5 or 5 (forget which)/3" Meg's MF cutting/Uno corrected Audi clear incredibly well for me, so some PC-based approaches *can* do the work quite efficiently.
 
I'm having a similar problem. I made marks on my backing pads to try and monitor rotation speed, but it seems like the PC gets bogged down so quickly that I have to apply very little pressure to get the job done. I make sure to clean the pads religiously after a good prime, but I just can't seem to find that sweet spot to get the correction results I'm looking for. I've tried M105/205 on LC yellow/orange/white, and D300 on the MF cutting pad and it all seems to do the same. On the other hand, I can use a LC blue and Blackfire and it makes waxing a breeze.

Noting that there are now different models of the "PC" out there (e.g., the XP series) and thus it's risky to generalize.....This sounds like the classic "PC problem", the answer for which is smaller pads.

I talked to Marc @ AutoLavish. Part of my problem is that I've got a 5" backing plate and 6.5" pads. Gotta love AutoGeek for sending me that combo. I'm going to switch to a 6" plate and try again. If not, I may then try going to a 5" pad set and see if I can get better correction with the PC. If that fails, I'll pick up a Griot's or a Flex.

Your Correcting glass with this combo? Thats why it isn't working for you...Pretty sure you need cerium dioxide to polish glass.
