Fastest way to wipe down car..

i use a waffle weave, but what helps a lot is a final rinse with free flowing water (using the hose without the nozzle). with that final rinse most of the water will sheet off and cut your drying time in half. its also a good way to see if you have to apply a new coat of wax on your car

Not sure who else still does this but I use 100% cotton bath towels and blot the paint dry. Can fold it in half and do big sections at once.

After I do the whole vehicle, then I come back with either my air compressor or one of those air duster cans (these get expensive though) and a couple smaller MF towels to get any drips and blow out places water can hide.

Intel486,

I still use my super-sized white Charisma bath towel for drying. Its large and its fast. Cleanup any water spots with the smaller WW towels.

I also use the free flowing nozzle for the final rinse.

If you have a well-waxed exterior drying will be very quick.

I use Blue waffle weave microfiber drying towels by Pak Shak as well. I have about 5 of these, but if I'm using QEW as my wash I can easily dry 2 and sometimes all 3 of our vehicles with 2 towels.

I use Absorber towel right after the wash to soak up as much water as possible. Then I finish up the drying process with the Waffle Weaver MF towel. This combo works well as the WW does not get soaked up too much.

I am normally using a blower, I find it much better to get the water out of crevices and dry the wheels quicker so I can dress the wheels and wells before pulling it in the garage. This avoids any chemical dripping on the floor.

I was recommended the Absorber which I do use for firsst pas and then a Chamois for the final. I must admit that I am not that impressed with the Absorber as it leaves a fair bit of moisture and streaks.

The best advice throughout Autopia seems to be either a leaf blower &/or the MF drying cloth but I don't have easy access to the MF drying clohs locally. Of course they are only a mail order away.

I'm ditching my Absorber for the Meguiar's Water Magnet WW. I suspect that the Absorber is why my swirls have returned, and LSP durability is so bad on my paint. I have had some other Autopians agree with me on that too. Although I did not "blot" with my Absorber. :nixweiss

I take the sprayer off the hose, sheet water over the car and let the water 'pull' itself off the cars. Follow that with a waffle-weave.

I ditched my Absorbers along time ago for Pakshak waffle weaves. My Absorbers are not regulated for boat and jetski duty. The WW soaks up water so much better and is much softer. The prices of waffle weaves nowdays are comparable to the Absorber anyway.

I use my electric leaf blower. It does a great job of drying the car, plus it gets all of the hidden water in the cracks and crevices. My neighbors think I'm crazy, but who cares! I will then use a MF if there is anything else remaining.

I used to use the California Blade until one day when it must have had some small particles on it. I did my entire black 01 Camaro SS Conv. Now I am spending all of my spare time buffing out scratches :hairpull :waxing:

Now I use MF and leaf blower.
