Fall / winter..... Lsp

Its getting cooler and we all know what that means. Whats gonna be the choice for both winter prep and the LSP to get you through the nasty winter weather.:inspector::inspector::yikes::wow::idea::surrender:hmmm::hmmm:

Im ready to redo mine with everything steve has at detailfest:dnaughty . Man a whole wharehouse full of poorboys products:drool:. Also anything we use gets topped with three coats of Nattys red.
 
Since the Tundra needed prepping anyway, I went ahead and did the following (LSP-wise).

Two apps of Zaino Z5 Pro (about a week apart)
Recently topped with FK Pink Wax.

I plan to freshen up the Pink Wax as needed or as I get bored.
 
Since I still wax/seal my vehicles periodically during the winter, durability isn't a real big issue, but.....
Since there is always the possibility of something keeping me from that plan, I do use what I consider longer lasting products during the winter weather.
Interestingly enough, I have been happy enough with the appearance of those products that I also use them year round. :)
Optimum Opti-Seal, Duragloss #105 TPP, and Collinite #845 Insulator Wax seem to have become my go to products the past couple of years. I also use Duragloss Aqua Wax regularly during the drying process pf my rinseless washes or after using Poorboy's Spray & Wipe as a waterless wash.
The Opti-Seal is high on my list because it is so easy and so fast to apply. The DG #105 has a little cleaning power which comes in handy occasionally. The #845 being a true wax with no cleaning abilities, I don't use near as much as I used to. It does have quite the reputation for durability, though.

As far as Zaino is concerned, I have not used it since the "Pro" suffix was added. It no doubt is a fine product, but the few obnoxious users that jump on your case anytime you don't worship at the alter of Sal have turned me off completely. Chances are I would buy the products I use rather than use free Zaino. :eek:
FWIW, I do realize that not all Zaino users are like that, but enough were to help me make that decision.
 
i just came in from the garage . i washed and put a coat of P&S ULTRACOAT WAX on wifeys equinox .. its a polymer sealer .. looks very shiney and has good durability and it does not bead up alot which makes drying easier .. felt great and my back feels great . physical therapy is murder but worth it .. used my pc w/ edge 2k blue pad on speed 4 .. dressed trim and tires with P&S gel dressing ..

I don't think the "true" Zaino people would accept me in their community, Charles. I topped it with a wax. Somewhere in the Zaino users handbook, it clearly states not to do that. :D And I didn't use ZFX. :(
 
I'm a Collinite 845 for my winter LSP, starting my prep now on my DD, one coat tomorrow and two coats in October, will get me to April.

That sounds good but you gotta have some snow,salt,sand and calcium to help ruin your car. Move up here and see what winter is all about my son. :yikes::yikes::passout::passout:


With all due respect for the sponsors here I keep hearing many use the collinite 845 as a winter staple. This said the stuff must be a proven long lasting performer in the winter protection line up. I will be getting my stuff corrected sealed and ready for nasty weather within the next month or so. The 845 is one I guess I should try as my LSP knowing my weather conditions are quite severe.

Using Collinite #845 is not being disrespectful of the sponsors here. Two carry it.
