My new honda bike has swirl marks. I did a lot of research, and used my repainted truck as a test, with a Porter Cable DA, all the right pads, and Mequiar's (sp) Swirl remover #9. It completely took the swirls out of my truck. So I tried the motorcycle. It did not work. Instead it just made the swirl scratches finer, but spread over a bigger area. I did the bike by hand.
Somebody told me the refinish clear is softer, but the factory Honda clear is a complicated baked on, chemical catalyzed, very hard clear, and one can not "buff out" swirl marks.
Is this true?
Thanks for any help. I love my bike and this is really making me unhappy.
