EZ Detail Brush Handle Snapped Off After only a Few Uses

mine snapped after a fair amount of uses. Sucks that it isn't made a little better. It's almost like a soda can top after you bend it a couple times the top pops off.

Same thing with the the brusg\h. Several bends and it will eventually break.

Detailer confidence on this item is zero

I purchased 6 of these (3 large & 3 small) from Detailers Image after Xmas and

after 1 month already 4 of them have broke........great idea, but terrible quality for professional use.

For the price you would think they would last alot longer.....I do not think I will reorder any more of these EZ brushes again..........POOR QUALITY IMHO

My Meguiars Wheel Spoke Brush snapped off this last weekend. I used it in 4 or 5 cars. Granted, mine was not the EZ Detail brush, it seems that this kind of brush does not hold.

i have 3, and one is about to go after 10 cars. I'll keep an eye out for when I need to use the next and how long it lasts...I have only the mini ones as I didnt see the need for the parger since the mini will reach the back of the wheel inners on all the cars I do

They are probably all from the same Chinese factory.

This item has been poor since day one. I don;t think I've met anyone with anything good to say about it after about a week.

Welcome to the club! They are insanely expensive for the quality of brush that you get. :wall

+1

I mean, it is an amazingly effective and useful brush, but having the little rubber cap come off the top after a month and having the entire brush break off from the handle at the stem after 3 months of relatively infrequent use (in my case, I know for others it breaks much sooner) is unacceptable. The brush is overpriced as it is, and then to have it break so easily is like getting spat in the face. :hairpull

FWIW, I bought the Daytona brush from AG, skeptical of their marketing of it being "reinforced and redesigned for automobile use, etc." and I am shocked to say that their marketing hype isn't just BS! I've been using mine for 6+ months and it still hasn't broken yet. Yes, the little rubber thing on the top did come off (which I remedied with duct tape :D), but the brush itself still seems pretty solid.

That is the one I got with the red bristles . . . . . The Daytona Brush. It did last a little while but they still should redesign it so they don't break off so easy. Those brushes are like $25+

What other options are there really when comes to cleaning the inners on wheels besides taking the wheel off?

What is the shaft made of on these things? I don't own one, but always liked the concept.

Is it just a cheap, brittle plastic? Perhaps a hard, yet somewhat flexible rubber shaft would be nice :hm.

So, after hearing this I'm not going to get the EZ. Which brush from AG wont break over a longer period of time?

Thin plastic bristles which are great . . . . that isn't the issue. The shaft however seems like it is made of like a chain link fence type material but on the thinner side to allow for it to be bent.

However i never bent mine to say anything like a 45 degree angle or anything like that. Every once in a while it would bend a little left or a little right but that is in. Finally one day it just snapped at the handle. It is hard to use now but i do try to use it since it is all i have to clean the inners.

it appears that it is material like that.

I use something like this:

Add me to the list of dissapointed EZ Detail brush category. Mine looses the rubber caps and scratches wheels. Never had one break, but the caps are stupid loose. Bad part is that we dont have many other options for a brush like this.

I will hand it to autogeek, they replaced mine twice for a missing cap. Its to bad the retail part has to take the hit on these brushes.

This is what I've been using:

This one is about two years old...bought it at Pep Boys. Only complaint is that the handle is a bit short.

I have one similar to that by Laitner. It's old and still works like new.
