Exterior Detail of a Santorin Blue S4

Car was in overall good shape. Some of usual swirls from normal washing but other than that the owner does a great job keeping the car young.

Process as follows.

1. Wash

2. Clay

3. Polish with Opt Compound via rotary at 1700 rpm with a white pad.

4. Polish with a 60/40 mix of Adams Revive and Menzerna FP via rotary at 1400 rpm and white pad.

Seal with FMJ

The Revive helps me work with FP in the sun. I know I got a little crazy but opt compound works perfect on the audi clear and FP is always a winner in my book. With the addition of revive it made light work of the fp. Not that I really have a problem with buffin fp but the revive just makes it that much easier.

topnotch- Nice job :xyxthumbs

How hard was the clear on that one? I keep hearing about certain Audis, always with some variation of blue paint, that have very soft clear, which just makes no sense to me...

This was not one of the hardest clears that I have worked on but not the easiest other. My initial approach was a bit more agressive using the otc with a white pad even though the finish was not horrible. When I had a black A4 the clear was tough to take the swirls out but the rub of my fingers would lead to a swirl. I dont get it to be honest with you.

:nixweiss I don't get it either :D Thanks for the info though, sounds like *this* blue Audi was kinda middle-of-the-road.
