Extensive Zaino review

Thanks Scott for the review, though I must ask why are you so against using ZFX? Furthermore, I know your supposed to wait 2 hours to add Z8 after 3 layers of Z5... what about after 2 or 1 layers?

One more thing... does Z5 fill? I hear mixed reviews... and if it doesn't then whats the point of using it versus Z2?

They say it will fill or help with very minor blemishes. I think most feel as though it does not do much in that aspect. many like Z5 on darker cars and z2 on lighter ones.

Thanks for the Review Scott! Very informative.

FWIW, I have 1/3 of my car sealed w/ Z2Pro, without ZFX and I think it looks great, it really helped the flake "Pop".

Why should I have to buy another product, mix it into Z2 or Z5, and put on 3 layers to get the best results? I prefer to use products that give me excellent results right out of the bottle. Even on my own car, I'm going to use something straight from the bottle vs one that needs to be mixed and layered if I can get the same appearance. /rant

Now that you can apply a single layer of Z5 (which seems to protect more than adequately and looks pretty good too) over ZAIO without spending another $20 on ZFX, using Zaino works much better for me. :)

If you need to wait 2 hours to apply Z8 over 3 layers of Z5, it is probably the same if you just applied 1-2 layers too.

I don't notice any filling properties with Z5 Pro. Didn't with the original version either. The point for me using it is I prefer the look to most other sealants on dark colors. Not quite carnauba, but pretty close and it has better durability.

TH0001-send me some Z2 Pro then. ;) Like I said earlier, I like Z2 Pro, I just think that Acrylic Jett looks better to me. Plus, I prefer the more carnauba like appearance of Z5 Pro or NXT on solid dark colors...I typically don't use Werkstatt on them either.

great review scott.i do like the cyclo and want to use it more, i'd like to put in a request for some of your picks on what products to use for certain color cars, not now but just when u get some time it would be greatly appreciated

Looks good!!!

I'd prolly put a coat or two on my car and top it with whatever i like the look of or is easy to use.

You do great work.

thank you for the informative write up. i have only used zaino zpc, z5pro and z2pro. I like em alot. I will have to try the zaino clear seal. Thanks again.

Zaino All in One-I've been generally using it with either a black LC CCS finishing pad or white Edge Cyclo finishing pads. Very mild cut but it does a good job cleaning the paint, leaves a carnauba-like shine, more similar in appearance to Vanilla Moose than to Klasse AIO. Leaves the finish very slick so LSPs glide on easily. My understanding is it can be used as a one step but as of yet, I haven't used it as one. What I really like about it though, is that I can follow with Z5 and not have to mix it with ZFX, which was a major sticking point with me getting on board with Zaino. Now that I can use ZAIO and use Z5 straight from the bottle, it makes using Zaino easier.

Great review. Why isn't ZFX required for Z-2 or Z-5 after you use ZAIO? Also, how is the durability of Z2-Pro vs. Z5-Pro?

5. What if I want to apply Z-2 PRO or Z-5 PRO on top of Z-AIO?

You will certainly be very happy with the results. As curing is not required with Z-AIO when used with our protectants, you can apply Z-2 PRO or Z-5 PRO immediately after wiping the residue of Z-AIO.

For subsequent applications of Z-2 PRO or Z-5 PRO, ZFX is not required unless you want to apply multiple coats of product in quick succession (this is a benefit of using ZFX). Z-2 PRO or Z-5 PRO without ZFX can optionally be applied no more than once every 8-12 hours. However, if you choose to apply ZFX enabled Z-2 PRO or Z-5 PRO on top of Z-AIO, follow the respective directions for those Zaino protectants.

Haha Z-6 does totally smell like cough syrup, I've said the same thing. I will say I have grown to like the smell now. I have diamond graphite and I LOVE the way zaino makes it look, the flake really does pop. I will usually do Z-5 followed with a wipe down with Z-6 and then I'll do a couple layers of Z-2pro and whoa mama! What impresses me the most is how long it lasts...easily over 3 months+ for me. Just a few examples of how my car looks when Zaino has been used.

ZAIO acts as a primer coat. Z2pro doesn't need ZFX for optimal bonding over ZAIO but it does require ZFX is you want to do multiple layers of Z5/2pro. As far as I'm aware Z5/2Pro with ZFX is the only "instant cure" (roughly 15 minutes) sealant available.

Great review! I have been using the complete z line and have been very happy with it. I was worried about using z6 as a qd because you are supposed to use so little that I thought it would scratch my black car, so I started using FK425 as a qd over my zaino finish when car is a little more dirty. It worked great!

Any opinion on how the Z line compares to Ultima line?

Scott,

when using zAIO with a cyclo, how much product do you put on each pad?

About 3 small blobs per pad. Like most polishes, use a little less than you think.

Iman-I can't compare durability because I've only had the Ultima products a few weeks, but I will say that Ultima PGP amps up the wetness a lot more than Clear Seal does.

I'd suggest that if you are happy with how Zaino looks and performs, I'd use it first and then seal it all in with UPGP.
