Explorer from Hell

This Explorer has had some poor repaint done on it and suffers from clear failure .. but he wanted me to do the best I could .. I think he is trading it in.

The interior was a mess with a coffee stain down the side of the tranny hump that had been there since March .. ScottWaxs' Woolite formula did the trick.. the carpets came out great.

I used DACP on it and 3M SMR and then was going to give NXT or ColorX a shot to see how it looked. Unfortunatly both left white deposits in the clear checking and looked terrible.

So what I did next was not very Autopian but it worked.

Someone gave me a bottle of the Turtle Wax colored wax a long time ago sooooooooooo.. I tried it. Big suprise.. it did a nice job of filling the checks and all the other little messes in the paint.

I topped it with #16 and left it at that.

Here are a few pix .. and yes I detailed the wheel wells later.

WOW! What work you did there! Looks like new, atleast on photo. Was that with a PC? And interior, you got an extractor to do your work? You know you got swirls when it's dirty and you could still see them. Keep it up!

Excellent job, Dee! :up

Laquer checking is a real pain to deal with, almost everything will dry white in the cracks. Good thing you had the Turtle Wax laying around!

Sorry .. Just had at add these 2 shots .. I take lousy pix and these were one of my best accidents.
