Hey guys. These are my swirls. Kind of hard to take pictures of but they are very visible under the halogens. Here's my process of washing/polishing.

Wash with sheepskin mitt, the good one from wally world using z7 or gc

Use nozzle drying to sheet the water off

Dry first with big orange Viking MF drying towel

Touch up drying with Fiber-works WW

Polishing

Apply Z-PC with Polishin Pal using orange pad using back and forth motion

Wiped off with FW ultra fine edgless MF

Applied 2 coats of Z-5 Pro with PP with blue pad

Wipe off with diff towel

Apply 1 coat of Z-2 Pro

Wipe off

Apply Z-6 wipe off with FW Ultra plush

Apply Z-8 wipe off with FW Ultra plush

thats all i did today.

the swirls were on the car when i bought it, bought the car used, i think i have made them worse since owning the car before joining the forum here. im looking in to buying a PC with some pads or paying someone to come out and de-swirl it for me. but i would like to know where i'm going wrong.

here are the pics:

Yeah, doing that by hand is a real chore (how many hours do you want to spend on a single panel?), you really oughta get a PC/Cyclo. Even then it can take a long, long time to get it all out.

Note that Zaino (even the Z5) doesn't really let you get away with much- if you have marring it's gonna show.

The straight-line marring might be coming from your polishing efforts (the orange pad might be a bit aggressive for a final finish), hard to say. But IMO 99% of such stuff happens during the wash. It's tough to wash without marring...note that you're trying to move potentially abrasive dirt across the paint (to get it off the paint) without letting it *scratch* the paint. That's a pretty big challenge; you gotta do it without pressing the dirt into the paint while you move it.

Totally agree, Def need to get a PC or hire someone to buff it out. Depends on you, most of my friends wont buy a PC, buff pads ,and backing plate for one time use on there car. Looks like you tried really hard!! Good Job! and keep up the good work!
