EX-P over #80 OK??? Bonding???

I am doing a friend's Explorer this weekend. I thought I would try Megs #80, followed by EX-P. The paint is a dark blue metal flake with light swirls.

Will the EX-P have any bonding issues with the Megs oils? Durability?

Would you suggest a topper over the EX-P?

I had the same question and clean dean a member said it shouldn't be a problem. Let me check my pm

Steve from Poorboy said he didn't know since he has not tested that combo.
 
That is what I have on my Integra (black) and it's been on there for several months. This car is never washed, driven in rain or left uncovered for any long periods of time(kept under a cover). I was just catching a nice view of the glow today after I QD'd it with S&W.

Im trying to to jack the thread but i was wondering if it will work for ex as well as exp. also will 80 clear up hazing from 83? i heard that somewere.

EX and #80 should be fine, and #80 will in fact clear up the hazing left by #83. It is very common to follow #83 with #80.
 
Are 80 and VM similiar? I know they are both "glazes" but i thought VM was not that abrasive and 80 is a higher abrasive? correct?

do any of u rememebr my most recent post about my ex not bonding... i tried
#80, sg, ex and it didnt bond! steve told me something about the oils not letting it settle. so i asked if it would be ok to use #80 then ex and i m pretty sure he said it was a bad combo... that ex needs to be applied to a clean surface...
 
This thread seems to have a split. #80 and EX-P and #80 and EX. I have not yet had the occasion to try my bottle of EX-P, but I did recently use #80, VM, and EX (1 coat) on one of my personal vehicles. I am experiencing a reduction in the beading of EX and question whether the durability has been compromised. I have seen posts extolling the good looks of the VM/EX combo. I like the looks, but I'm perplexed with the lack of beading, which is spotty. At least at this point I would be hesitant to send one of my customers off with this combination. I have used EX over Meg's DC Step 2 with very good results.

My current intentions are to use either AIO or PB's Pro Polish as a base for EX-P.
