Ever NOT clay before a polish?

Takes me about 30+ minutes to clay my cars...

Easily 1-2 hours on other people's cars.... Usually the worst part of a detail for me.

Maybe I'm working too hard at this?

I'm in the same boat as you. I just clayed my wifes windshield, and that took 10 minutes. If I extrapolate for the whole car being as dirty as the windshield was, were easily talking 1-2 hours.

shizam--to find the claybar cleaning product on PAC, I found it by the following steps, but probably there's an easier way.. But, this will work for you.
1. go to the PAC site
2. scroll down to the From the Pro's section and click on Car Care How To
3. go to the How To create a Wet-Ice over Fire shine and scroll down to the claybar area, and you will find the Blackfire Clay Cleaning and Extender , you can click that cleaning product on and it'll take you to the picture and price for purchase. You'll be all set. softoa..

Funny that you have to go through all that to find it :) Maybe it should be moved to the Clay bar section! I'll think about adding that to my cart next time I'm making a purchase.

Back when I worked in high volume shops we never clayed a car unless it had over spray. :D

Today I clay all my cars, some require more time than others, but 30-45 min is about average for me. I usually go over my clients cars with a Tarminator prior to claying. This will make claying easier and should speed it up by removing all the tar before hand, and it will also keep your clay bar from getting trashed.

I've never really understood why people use clay to remove tree sap and tar...
