eurow vs baja sol wash mitts

How would these sheepskin wash mitts fair against each other? I'm referring to these 2 only, not anything from vendors.

The baja sol are from Target and the eurow are from Walmart.
 
Both are sheepskin. Both have the hide lining. Both have the same cuff. Both are made in China.



Basically they're the same.



However, no two sheepskin mitts are alike, even from the same manufacturer.



The idea is to find the sheepskin mitt with the thickest, fluffiest feel to it and buy that one.



Like BillD says, "it's like picking fruit." Rummage around and look for the best one(s). Hopefully, you'll get some that will hold up. Many of mine begin to loose fur and I relegate them to wheels and grunge work.



You can get really nice ones from both manufacturers.



The Eurow get a lot of play on here due to their availability.



I have mitts from 6 places, and they're all the same.



I would like to try the one from Griots. It looks different, super thick and is made in Canada.
 
Yep, if you pick the best ones, you'll find you can't tell the difference ( especially if you buy the ones with the thumbs)--except the price. Do "pick 'em like fruit" and prepare for folks to gawk at you in the automotive aisle :D :up
 
I personally have had more luck with the Baja ones than the Eurow ones as far as which last longer for me. I also like the ones w/o the thumb part. But likewise, be selective in picking.
 
try the viking genuine wool mitt (k-mart, autozone, etc..) they are very soft & durable. i haven't had any problems, and i've been using it for over a few months with no signs of it wearing down. :up
 
I agree with Spilchy and Bill regarding "hand-picking" sheep skin mitts. I really don't care about the brand, as long as the softness meets my liking. IMO, a $5 soft mitt that I have hand-picked is better than $20 mitt that has the "perception" of being soft due to the higher cost. With that said, I do like the Eurow's at Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, quality is not very consistent --> sometimes I'll find 3 out 5 mitts are pretty good...other times none of them will pass.

Yeah, I've found the same as MCA. Sometimes I have just left Wal-Mart bummed about not finding plush enough mitts :( :D ;)
 
I haven't seen a "Sheepskin" Wash mitt from baja Sol at target yet. I did however buy a Baja Sol "Lamb's wool" Wash mitt from target.

Did I buy the correct one (when you guys are referring to a sheepski mitt) or is a Baja Sol "Sheepskin" mitt a totally different mitt than the baja sol lambs wool.?
 
I just bought two Eurow's from Wally world 15 minutes ago. I log on and immediately find a thread talking about how some are better than others. I hate being a newb!

Very comparable, I think it essentially comes down to whether you like the thumb in the mitt or not. Both very good though :up
 
The only difference I observed between the Target brands ( Baja Sol) and Eurow at Wal-Mart, is that the Baja Sol is thumbless. I couldn't make heads or tails which is better quality. I picked the Baja Sol' like fruit,evaluating them just as a do the Eurows, and they seem equally good.



I recall Spilchy coming to same conclusion with the Baja Sols, Eurow and Turtle Wax as well.



I like a thumb and paying a little less, given the quantity I have, I go with the Eurow every time.



So J.J., no need to worry, as long as you picked the softest ones of the selection, you ought to be fine. Also though, there might be times where the mitts are just too course, those are the times i simply leave the store empty handed waiting for better luck next time.

The "fruit" methodology is ESSENTIAL in picking the right ones. Like a skilled surgeon, it requires a delicate hand and experience in knowing what to look for ;) ............ :rolleyes:



Do not use mail order to buy your sheepskin since you can't sort throught them yourself. I have bad luck excpet with the now discontinued CMA black sheepskin mitt. The only other mail order I will try is Griot's since it looks different than all the rest and is made in Canada, not China.



I was in WalMart yesterday and removed all 15 or so mitts off the shelf because they were too high up, I had to stand on my tippy toes :p I examined all 15 which I had spread out on top of the other products and chose 2 of them out of the bunch. The rest did not meet my specifications. In the end, I got 2 fluffy, thick, properly densed, juicy mitts :woot:



Look at the size of that beauty on the right :shocked Ain't she perfect? :2thumbs:

I went for the first ones on the rack :( I hope these look pleasing to the eye. I'll know better next time!

Can't tell for sure without feeling them. Be sure to pre soak with some car wash ( in lieu of just washing them in the washing machine) and rinse them before use.
