EPIC THREAD: The Story of John Ross

How could I ever forget my buddy John Ross?

Good times.

Good times for sure!!!

Oh yeah.... I remember hearing about some of this stuff on the down low. I don't recall having any interaction with ol J.V. He was too over-the-top enthusiastic for me.

It's crazy stuff like this that made Autopia super exciting for me. The lunatic, psychopathic nutcase personalities are so much more interesting than a shiny car thread.

David, thanks for opening the crypt so we can all see inside. It's "people" like John Ross that make detailing communities so great, especially when they are Travis Bickle-like kooks!

Holy crap! As a moderator of two different forums, I know how it can be chasing IPs and off the wall posters. I have NEVER seen anything like that. The level that he/they pushed it to is unbelievable. Kudos to the team for handling it as well as you did. I would have probably let the ban hammer fly like old school Donkey Kong after dealing with all of that.

hahahahaha, one of the best lines I've heard in a very long time.

I have to ask, did Steph ever send a picture ????

I just read through all of those threads, and WOW. That blew my mind.

Just the sheer amount of time he went through to create the accounts, send the messages, etc.

I had some funny thoughts on how to deal with it in a menacing fashion, but I like how David B approached it.

Thanks for the bumpage and publicizing Fermani!

I can still see Stephanie Ross' avatar in my mind.... Just a picture of someone pulling a blanket up over their face. Kind of like someone sitting in bed and then pulling the blanket up to hide. She made mention of it a few times and it was the only thing she ever posted of herself.

I think there were more posts about John Ross that didn't make the list. I seem to remember us finding the sites where he stole the recipes that Stephanie would "create" as well as where he got some of the pictures of cars that he posted. His lies fell apart pretty quick once we got wise to him.

WOW!! I think the whole mod crew from back in the day has chimed in on this thread so far. lol Brad, Bill... Great to see you again! You too Bret! You never know what happens to people online. Someone you spent a lot of time with on a forum could get hit by a bus and you'd never know what happened other than they stopped posting. Good to see you guys are still alive and kicking! :xyxthumbs (wow... even the smiley codes are the same. lol)

Glad to have you, too! I plan to stick around but I can never guarantee I won't get hit by a bus. I've actually had one too many close calls in recent years. :nervous: :chuckle:

But yes, Autopia is my online home, long before Facebook, Twitter, any of those. It rocks and it's my favorite website bar none! :bow

I'm glad everyone has enjoyed this ride down memory lane. Nothing like sharing the old times with some of the newer members. The mod forum is a total blast to have the priveledge of reading. People wouldn't have a clue what's just a hidden click away. Tons, and tons of detailing industry secrets to say the least.

I actually e-mailed all the prior Mods with this link. The only e-mails that bounced back undeliverable were Bjwebster & Taxlady.

Still waiting for a few more to wander in........:director:

There's got to be a lot of crazy stuff in there.... would be a fun read for sure.

So, will more 'stories' be released from the Moderation vault?

Working on it. But nothing quite as monumental as this one though....

I wandered in a bit late on this!

WOW! Holy Blast From The Past!

Better late than never! Great to see you back and catching this thread! Thanks for the responding. Would love to get Tort, Pat & a few other mods in on this too.

David, this is CRAZY! Wow, wow and wow again! Mini series script indeed. Very disturbed J.R. or whom ever this person is. Great work by the mods. The time and effort to create and continue the scam is mind bending to me - I could not begin to construct this story of stories.

To me, the icing on the cake was....

Him saying that the other employee was using

Autopia to further his own gains.

Actual John/Satan/Steph, everything was done

to promote John Ross.

On second thought you are right Jr.

Your employee was just helping himself.

But your employee is the same person as the employer.

Your claim of his actions for personal gain,

is nothing more than a twisted confession.

Got to laugh.

This made my day.

How the heck did I miss this?
