Eo A2z

Forgive me for asking, I've been out of the loop for ages.

I'm about out of my P21s gel and P21s regular strength. I noticed EO has a new A2Z formula in a orange bottle. I remember the old EO formula was acidic, and this one makes no mention of it.

How does this compare to P21s? If it's still acidic, I'll keep away for sure, if not.. maybe I'll check it out when my P21s is gone.

I'd be using the product on a set of BBS RC 18" Wheels. So they are pricey, and I'd rather not ruin them!

The Eagle One website claims it is Acid Free and safe for all wheel types.

I have been using it for over a year now on my BMW alloy wheels and there has been no damage. It works great, I'm very happy with it.

Plus, it will also remove that stubborn wax residue from textured black trim. Just use a little A2Z and a tooth brush to scrub it. Then use a terry towel to give the trim a good wipe down. Let it dry and inspect to see if you need a second treatment, but in most cases you'll get rid of the residue the first time around. If you want you can try it on an inconspicuous place before tackling the whole trim piece.

Mindflux, I've purchased it 2 months ago and have been using it. I am also a long-term P21S user as well. The EO product is much stronger and is a more effective cleaner. Acidic or not - - don't really know but it has a strong caustic odor if that helps.

Someone with a Subaru posted this week that he was having problems with his clearcoat (EO A2Z user). I would never use the EO product unless your clearcoat is perfect and scratch-free.

Griot's wheel cleaner by the gallon is still an excellent value at $29. The 5L container of P21S is now around $80.

It's a strongly alkaline product. pH is around 12 or so, if I recall correctly. I have been using this product for 2 years with no problems whatsoever. However, I do not use it in my weekly cleaning regiment. I use it 3 to 4 times a year at most. Once the wheels are clean, I seal them with AIO or #20 and from then on, wash with car soap.

Ditto what 2wheelsx2 said. I do not use it every week. Once the wheels are clean I give them a coat of Wheel Wax and then just wash with car wash soap and a very soft brush.

Auto Zone has a rebate right now for a free bottle.... Plus a free bottle of wax as you dry

I have used 3x a week for 18 months on My bmw rims with nothing but great results. I do Klasse sg them regularly

I can verify that A2Z is terribly basic. You can too. Spray it on your hand and wait 2 minutes. It'll itch like crazy and won't stop no matter how you rinse it.

It works well, but since I have to break out the brush anyway, I'm going to switch back to using an APC for my wheels. I'm trying to simplify (while still buying too much stuff and putting up even more shelves.)

I believe Scottwax uses Orange Blast.

Orange Blast is rather acidic - about a 2.0pH. Eagle One A2Z is basic - about a 10.8pH.

(Tested with a Hanna digital pH meter in 100% concentrations and diluted 10:1 with water)

I use A2Z on my stock wheels and the wifes anthracite wheels. On my chrome summer wheels I just use soap and water. They are also big and wide open so its not that big a deal. But on smaller diameter wheels 16s for example I feel its a must. No problems here either!
