This particular car went through a rough time before being purchased by the current owner. Apparently the roof, trunk lid, and hood were great spots to put a purse and drag it off. NUMEROUS deep scratches were blended as you can feel then with your fingernail, which means they are not going to be removed without removing TONS of clear, so minimizing the effects was the best and safest call with the paints' longevity in mind.
Also, this car was "detailed" by an upscale detail outfit about 6 weeks prior to me getting my hands on the car. To say unsatisfactory results were obtained by that outfit would be a huge understatement. I would never let a car leave my possession looking the way this car did! Just because they cook you lunch while your car is detailed doesnt mean its higher end or quality!!!
a few befores and just a couple afters as I finished late night and had to catch a plane for a mini vacation to TAHOE!!! (was a total blast) I got a message from the owner the next day:
"looks phenomenal. I dont even want to drive it or even let the wind hit it"
Process:
all PC work except for the horizontals receiving rotary with wool and 105 3 times to relevel the scratches as best as possible.
105/wool/1400rpm
105/orange/spd 6
203/white/spd 6
CGEZC/black/spd 6
bfwd/blue/spd 4
megs hyper on tires
ONR wash
megs super degreaser where needed
CG QD on jambs
vacuum/interior dusting
Befores:
Keeping in mind that this car was recently clayed compounded and polished, you would think there wouldnt be a need for claying right....WRONG! I highly doubt the car was even clayed at all! This is after the hood (pic one), and the rear quarter panel (in hand)...disgusting!
same shot after the compounding step alone
Afters:
This is why you dont let someone go at your car with a rotary who doesnt know how to do it! At least now its in a MUCH better state and looks more like how a jet black car should look. The goal is to keep this car in a 90% condition every 6 months with a simple polishing from here on out instead of heavy compounding it anymore! The owner has every intention of keeping it fresh and clean and protected every 2-3 months, and calling me out every 6 to polish it up!
