Engine cleaner - no hose

I have a small leak or a mess from a small spill on top of the engine that seems to be slowly growing. It`s around the coil packs/head cover on a Ford Focus. I don`t have a hose or really want to use one there. I plan to brush and wipe with a little spray bottle. It`s a tight area with little room to get in there. What do you suggest? I see Wolfgang has a new engine cleaner that wipes on/off. No reviews as of yet.

The best way to identify the leak is the clean the mess and observe... So I think OP is on the right path.

Get some Meguiars super degreaser 4:1 dilution: spray, wait 3-5 min, wipe with any towels you wanna throw away (or just get a roll of shop towels, the blue stuff, they are very absorbent and durable)

That is why I am trying to clean the area. When I had it into the Ford dealer I mentioned it and they could not find it. They suggested it was a spill from a oil change. I am sure a little goes a long way, I wish it was a smoother area to clean. I don`t to remove the coil packs to get in there. The area is damp and dirt is clinging to the area.

The Wolfgang stuff is fairly mild, so if the problem is large I would use a degreaser first. The Wolfgang cleaner is an AIO type product for mildly dirty engines.
