Engine Bay cleaning

I have a 1995 Honda civic. I want to make my car look as good as possible. I have heard that the cleaning the engine is very expensive, and takes a long time. That really doesnt matter to me.



What is the best way to clean the engine and make it look good for when i pop the hood...



1995 Honda Civic EX coupe, D16 SOHC VTEC
 
spray it with some rim cleaner while running let it sit for a min hose it off let it dry and use some sort of vinyl protectant on the rubber hoses. should take about 5 mins.
