Elastic Clay Comparisions

If your sending out samples Id be glad to review it. How did you get ahold of it? Will you be a distributor or something?

Pretty cool looking clay. hope it ends up being as good as the hard to find yellow clay of old. I would be interested in a sample as well as I am getting low on my yellow clay supply and would love to find an alternative that is easier to find . thanks for the information, looking forward to the reviews.

Ok, over a dozen samples sent out Autopians.

You should be receiving them by the end of the week. Expecting reviews soon ! :)

Ed, I'll caution you--I can't see how this clay would skirt the AutoMagic patent, if you sell it into the US you will be subject to the same litigation Erazer was.

He may also be subject to litigation in canada depending on the WIPO treaties involved. Etc.

I would be in touch with a patent agent/attorney to make sure that every aspect of your "invention" is taught in prior art, or would be obvious to a person having ordinary skill in the art.

Losing patent litigation can be *very expensive* due to treble damages and being forced to pay litigation costs.

The key word here is "sell", who says I was selling ?

If you want to play that game go for it. They will claim your infringing product is damaging the market for Autowax's patented product.

Those patents have been battle tested across multiple infringment lawsuits (included suits where the defendant claimed the patent was invalid) and AWC has won every time, which suggests the patents are tight.

I'm not saying that you are selling right now, but that is obviously your intent after you get your reviews. I'm just suggesting you check with an attorney before you sell outside of CAN, but you can obviously do what you want.

I'll take a sample. Hell I might be in Toronto soon (got to look at my routing), I'll take a brick of it if it's good.

I have been using Ed's clay for a few weeks now, and with good results. It has great glide(does not stick to paint when slightly dry) the elasticity is as described, and it remixes well. In all a great product!

I've had it for a little over a week now. Used it on an Avalanche that had never been clayed and a M45 that was in need as well. Doesn't stick, very elastic, pliable and cleans well. I used one half of one of the samples so far and it's still got some use left in it.
