Well, it sounds like you doing all the right things, just using the wrong product. I really hate this has happened :(

This really is not a job I would recommend to DIY unless you have alot of expierence stripping, sanding and painting. It will be alot of work for someone not set up for this. You could use your spare tire/wheel as 1 of the replacements for 1 of the damaged wheels

$160 a wheel? Where do you live Palo Alto :scared: I would approach them with a counter offer of $300 cash. Take it or leave it. For that kinda money I would either have the wheels powdered coated a custom color or find some different wheels :wizard:

You sound so determined the wheels are ruined.

Any pictures?

I agree Luke ^ I would definatelly be hitting these wheels with every kinda compound within reach. I find it kinda odd that it only showed up the next day. This would give me hope there is a chance for correction :wizard:

Well that sucks 95form! im sorry that happened to you!

you could try color sanding with 2000 grit sandpaper and then some polishing compound.Make sure you clean all the water from the wet sanding off your wheel and tire or it could stain them

i too would hate to see you have to repaint them if not needed!

This is exactly what happens when you leave the wheel cleaner on for too long.

Eagle One A2Z All Wheel & Tire Cleaner is a high-alkaline product and the directions state to spray the cleaner onto cool and dry wheels, let sit for 30-45 seconds and then rinse off. So if you were agitating manually, you should have been agitating as soon as you sprayed the wheels, don't give it any time to sit.

If I were you, I'd re-spray the A2Z on the wheel and rinse off and see if that does the trick. If A2Z really caused the problem, it should be able to fix it.

One of the reason's not to use a high-alkaline product. Always go with one that's is a safe, pH-controlled, non-acid, non-lye based detergent that provides terrific cleaning and guarantees not to damage any type of wheel's like painted, clear-coated, polished or anodized. I recommend P21S Wheel Cleaners. Sorry to hear about what happen 95formulalt1.

i have read what you guys have wrote and try a few things.
1. i wet sanded one wheels then used m105 with a LC org pad.
2. wheel wax.
3. sprayed one wheel with egale one wheel cleaner then washed it right away.

so after doing all this...
wet sanding then m105 made the wheel look new again.
wheel wax only made it look good but it was still there.:o
respraying didnt do anything.

Im so happy for you and your wheels !

I was going to mention I dont use acid based wheel cleaners because they are so harsh but also they smell really toxic to me and I dont want that going into my lungs everyday !

I want to use non toxic products as much as possible. Be healthy!
