Edges of Microfiber towels

Is it better to get a towel with microfiber edges or silk edges for quick detailing or wax removal? Which has a less chance of creating possible swirl marks on my black car.

Thanks

Rand- I think that most of those "silk edges" are just a different form of MF, but that's just a guess. I do find that those "satin"-y edges are somewhat forgiving of contact with the paint, but I try to keep *all* edgings off if I can. The "edgeless" MFs are probably the safest IMO.

But FWIW, I wouldn't expect to be able to QD a black car without causing marring. Eh, I pretty much can't QD *anything* without causing it...

I've got some MF towels that have a fabric edge that will mar paint. I had to cut the edges off 40 towels. :lol

Great towels (540 grams if I remember right) but the edges suck.

If these edgings are bad, how can vendors like Autogeek or chemical guys sell them? They seem to imply that the edgeless ones are more for removing wax and the thicker ones with edging are more for quick detailing and spray waxes.

i haven't really had any issues with either silk or mf edging and as long as you wipe and not apply pressure towards the end of the towel where the edging is, you should be fine...

Any suggestions for a "edgeless" quick detailing towel?

I've seen the Chemical Guys and the Cobra Indigo but they are more for polishing. Any "thicker" edgeless microfiber used for quick detailing with something such as Duragloss Aquawax?

Only ones that I know of are the Zaino towels - expensive, but worth it if you're marring your paint with normal towels.

Only problem with that is, I don't see the zaino towels offered anymore which is very disappointing. I gave a pack to my father because they are always backordered. Now I can't replace them. Ugh...

Anybody know the deal with when/if they will be offered again ? I pretty much only use them for LSP's though. I like the meguire's mf's for polish removal. Haven't had any issues with the edges.
