Anybody have/use these pads? Whats good and bad about them versus using a backing plate?
If you do a search you'll find tons of infromation about them . Alot of the DCer's use them , I'm one . I use both the PC and rotary pads and can't say enough good things about them . Yes the system isn't cheap , is it worth it . Well that depends and I can't answer that for you . If your going to be outfitting a PC with the Edge 2000 pads you could get by with only 1 blue and 1 green pad . You could custom order a green and yellow combo pad or just order 1 yellow pad .
Lets go shopping at PAC .
Edge 2000 pads
1 The Edge DA 2000 Blue Polishing Pad 17.95
1 The Edge 2000 DA Quick-Connect Adaptor 17.95
1 The Edge 2000 DA Green Light Cutting Pad 17.95
1 The Edge 2000 DA Yellow Medium Cutting Pad 17.95
Subtotal: 71.80
( you could subtract 1 pad if you get the combo pad ) total $53.85
I think combo pads cost a few dollars more .
Advanced pads
1 - 6 Inch Flexible Backing Plate for Dual Action Polishers 18.95
1- 7 1/2 Inch Advanced C.P. White Polishing Pad 10.95
1- 7 1/2 Inch, Advanced C.P. Yellow Compounding Pad 10.95
1 7 1/2 Inch, Advanced, C.P. Orange Power Pad 15.95
Subtotal: 56.80
Something to remember the Edge pads are double , so your getting 2 pads which means if you bought the suggested 3 pads you would have 6 pads and if you bought the suggested Advanced pads you would have 3 pads . I don't know if the above pads I picked out from Advanced are the right pads ( I never used them ) it was a ramdom pick . You need to decide what pads are right for you. If you buy from PAC or Autogeek you can get a 10% discount , so thats something to consider , plus Autogeek has good deals on kits . Good luck :dcrules
