CharlesW said:The Polishing Pal is very much overkill for me.
All I use the foam one for is applying either Klasse AIO, Duragloss PBA or an LSP.
Any true polishing I do is done with the PC.
I have a lot of the small Meguiar's yellow foam applicators and like the job they do. The only problem with those is me. I quite often flip one across the room when I lose my grip on it.That doesn't happen with the one with the "door knob" handle.

I don't think you really have to worry about that. With the popularity of 4" pads now being used on the PC you shouldn't have any problems finding a source of pads. I've used the pads from my Polishing Pal on the PC since it's just a 4" pad with the standard Velcro backing.Mr. Clean said:......The polish pal type products appear to be a viable (and interesting) alternative. I fear the lack of future availability of replacement pads or I might have already taken the plunge.
CharlesW said:Since it seems the door knob style applicator is not available from any of the DC sponsors, I'll order some from another source.
FWIW, The Viking web-site still had that applicator listed as recently as today. If it has been discontinued, it would seem that they would remove it from their product line.
Thanks to everyone for the input.

Thanks Dave.Beemerboy said:Charles my local P&S guy here has them, he going to get back to me with a price...if you have any troubles let me know and I will get some to you.
Since I will now have something like 10 of them, I probably have a lifetime supply.Mr. Clean said:They are definitely discontinued as confirmed today by Viking. The way the e-mail read, reinstatement is possible if a retailer should pick up the product again.

Interesting that the product died supposedly because people wouldn't pay $1.99 for them. I paid $2.99 plus shipping and had no qualms about it.
I have always said I was just crazy, not stupid, but that could be open to some debate.

One thing is certain. You can't sell what you don't have. I have wondered if that wasn't part of the poor sales equation.CharlesW said:...Interesting that the product died supposedly because people wouldn't pay $1.99 for them. I paid $2.99 plus shipping and had no qualms about it....
It most likely was.Mr. Clean said:One thing is certain. You can't sell what you don't have. I have wondered if that wasn't part of the poor sales equation.
In my case, my detailing lifetime is going to be somewhat less than many of you so 10 will probably be plenty.Mr. Clean said:I would like to see them come back. I wouldn't consider 10 anywhere near a lifetime supply (add to that I don't have 10 of them). The pads can tear, and then they are demoted to other duties. And, a buck .99 + sales tax beats 2 bucks + .99 + shipping any day of my week.![]()
