Easiest to use/most durable for a new car? Not too concerned with fantastic looks

MDRX8- Yeah the durability issue is kinda a sticking point...but I hear that Meg's #21 lasts pretty long.

Great booster, but claims as to its base sealant abilities? Doesnt happen in my world. Then again, for $7.00-$8.00, you could use it every week and be happy!
The more I use 1Z MP, the happier I become with it....Great light cleaner/polish, good synthetic durability. Top with Glanz and you should be good for several months.....I dont really have a need for anything more durable then a few moths anyway, as i detail every quarter anyway.
Use the DG AW monthly for additional slickness.....
Don't think you could possibly get anything easier, or more durable than an all-in-one( zaio,kaio,poliseal,xmt360,prime) followed by optiseal or clearseal as lsp. simply wipe on and walk away(literally less than 5 mins). You can apply either just as fast as aw, and you will get better protection.
Well here's what I did today. Bearing in mind the car is only a few months old, I decided that there is no rush on getting something like ZAIO to clean the paint, as many others have suggested.
Also, I did recently wax the car with some liquid carnauba wax (about a week ago). It was that experience that sent me looking for something better. That waxing session took a LONG time, probably partially my fault... I have a strong feeling I was using too much, which made removal a pain.
So I went ahead and picked up some DG AW at a local Carquest. They had three bottles left and still had that sale going ($5 per), and after reading a ton of good reviews of the AW I decided to buy all three bottles

So I went and washed the car and then went over it and applied the AW... my first impression, this stuff is awesome. It is SO easy to apply and buff out... I was able to wash, dry, and AW the car in less than an hour, which is the kind of ease and time expenditure I'd been hoping for.
I read some threads on here were people were using AW as their final/only wax and found that it did last well over a month in general, and many people seem to be happy just using it after every wash, which I'd be more than willing to do.
But yeah, maybe after some time has passed and my prior layer of wax is past it's useful life, I will go ahead and use some ZAIO, and then possibly go over it with some Collinite or DG 105, and then just keep applying AW over that.
With AW after every wash, would I reasonable expect to go 6 months or more before needing to do ZAIO/Collinite again?

Sounds like you like the Aquawax. You could just clay and AW every couple of months - easy and does the job.
That would be awesome too... though I'm tentative to clay bar as I've never done it before... just worried about damaging the paint. But I will give it a try at some point.

I don't WANT the detailing bug... I just want my car's finish to last. Don't care if it looks all super beautiful, but I at least want it to look as good as it did the day I bought it for as long as I'm paying it off!
Another quick Meg's QD question. How well does Meg's QD actually clean? Like, will the QD remove stuff that a wash would not? If I were going to wax, would there be any benefit to using the QD after washing for a deeper clean?

QDs don't clean all that well, do your cleaning during the wash and use a mild clay (e.g. the Sonus green*) for anything that doesn't come off easily (don't srub it off, use the clay). The main reasons to use them after a wash are: a) to provide lubrication and thus lessen the likelihood of toweling marks and/or b) to add a little gloss (as per the AW idea).
Depends on your conditions. I could probably do it with a few layers of Collinite: I waxed my Blazer with Collinite, last coat in early September; I drove it all winter applying a QD after most washes. It does *not* need rewaxed yet.

The Sonus green is special. It's so mild that it shouldn't even take off your wax, let alone hurt the paint. I use it as needed at *every* wash...great stuff.

I do hope you give IW a try one day. Granted, I had only used UPP and CMW before trying IW, but I haven't looked back. Last November, I applied two coats of IW on my ungaraged daily driver in preparation for the New England winter, and I didn't feel the need to re-wax until April ... 5 months later. It's easy to apply, easy to buff off (when applied thin), looks great, and lasts and lasts.

I also have a 2007 MazdaSpeed3 in Mica Black as well as a '74 Porsche 911 and I use Klasse All In One, then Klasse Sealer, then P21S for a topcoat and the cars look great and the treatment lasts several months. The MS3 is sitting on the driveway, not garaged and the 911 is garaged, so I retreat the MS3 once a month. Because the car is black, it's more challenging to keep it looking nice. I have a MazdaSpeed bra on the car during the week because I drive on MI's beautiful highway system, which is full of potholes, debris, rocks, etc... and it helps keep rock chips to an absolute minimum.

You need a product that will leave your car looking great without a lot of prep or fuss to maintain after. you will love KAIO or Duragloss 105 followed by weekly wash . Hit it every two or three weeks with a quick wipedown after washing with AW . I think you would be quite satisfied with your results with very little effort. There are better 3 and 4 step processes but this simple process will get you very nice results with little effort.

yep that's what I'm going to do... I'll use either Zaino AIO, Duragloss 101 (which seems to be a very similiar, AIO type product), or something like that to clean and apply a base layer maybe once or twice a year, then using the DG AW monthly. I used DG AW yesterday and it looked GREAT and was VERY easy to use, I really love this stuff so far.
