Earthquake In Chile

Hi all...I have a silver 2000 Volvo S70...thank goodness it is silver...these things would be more obvious with a darker color car...anyhow, I have very small pits on the front of my bumper...If you run your hand over them...you can barely feel them?...but if you look at the bumper closely and to the side, you can see them...they are like small pits/chips...no paint is missing or chipped...but the paint is like dented...I use Klasse , but that will not prevent these things...it must be from road material hitting the front of the bumper...How can I adress this...thanks
 
I have the same exact problem with my 2001 Volvo S60. The front bumper contains numerous small pits and chips. The pits are caused by road debris hitting the bumper at highway speeds. The best solution I found for it is to have XPEL or some other type of clear bra product installed. You may also want to consider having the headlamps done. My S60 has glass headlights and the lens is pitted pretty badly. Estimated replacement costs is approx. $250 each.

Bras, XPEL or Stongard are really your only solutions or buying one of those shields that attach to the front of your car like you see on pickup trucks. There aren't any sealants or waxes that protect against this.
 
On my acura, I get a new front bumper cover every couple years. The hondas just have a plastic shield over the structure of the bumper that can be easily removed and replaced. Costs about $400, but well worth it.
 
My condolences to any member would might have lost a love one or friend in Chile today. I have call my very good friend Todd and offer my help to him on this matter. I hope the best for my Latino friends in Chile and hope for a speedy recovery there..........................Angelo
 
Angelo, good thought. We should all say a little prayer for those in Chile and Haiti. You never know who could suffer next. Maybe someone very close to you.

This reminds us that it is a planet we live on.....god speed to those people !
The only thing we can do is give a few bucks to their relief fund...its all we can do.
 
An 8.8 is a wild, bangin' earthquake. I've been thru more than a few in my life and one that powerful is almost unbelievable. Not much can survive a quake of that magnitude.

Thoughts and best wishes go out to everyone affected. About all you can do is go out and pick up the pieces, because that is all that's left.

214 deaths. 2 million people displaced. Hawaii is safe, but Japan is on watch now for the tsunami.
 
I think Advance Detail is from Chile. Hope he's ok. We got a warning to stay off the beaches here just in case the tsunami hits. :(
 
My sympathies go out those down in Chile that were hit by this quake.

I grew up in California and can remember a few times when "the earth moved"... not fun at all. I can't imagine an 8+ earthquake, must've felt the ground was coming unhinged.

And tornado season is just around the bend here in Tennessee:(... ugh.

Being born and raised in Southern California I can tell you 1st hand how powerless and terrifying earthquakes are...

One thing my fianc? and I were talking about is how little media coverage the Chile disaster is getting as compared to Haiti disaster....Odd
