Eagle One

I'm sure it contains petroleum distillates which can be harmful. I have the same Eagle One crap in the spary bottle.

If you want high gloss, look at No Touch. I got a 3 bottle package at Costco for $7 and it has no harmful ingredients and conatains UV protection.

Or, you may want to check Meguiars Endurance or Black Magic Tire Wet products. However, I'm not sure of their properties. Both available at every automotive store.

well all that talk about dissilates and silicones ruins your rubber it might be true but i dont really care by the time my tires split in half from useing the products i will have new tires by then anyways

im useing Eimmann Fabrik Black Opal right now and i got meguires Endurance the regular not high gloss but i want th eagle one wet tire gel i seen on a big Good Year MTR off-road tire and it looked so sweet black opal is ok but i rather use it on trim and wheel wells then tires

My Black Magic Gel bottle says it has petroleum solvents. Is this the same as a distillate? I would assume so but just curious.

I believe so. I don't know of many shiny tire treatments that don't have them.

Again, if you can, check out No Touch. Got mine cheap at Costco.

I think they all contain petroleum solvents but not all contain silicones. One Grand ERV, Megs #40, and 3M Tire Dressing I'm pretty sure Do Not contain any silicones. I am currently comparing

the 3M and #40 to my mainstay OG ERV.

I have been using the Eagle One Tire Shine (Spray) for awhile now and have had no problems with it at all. I feel it gives the tires a nice gloss but not too shiny. I think the gel is the same product.

I really don't consider it crap. It is pretty durable and seems to last through some rain. It also does not sling onto the paint.

I doubt that it contains pretroleum solvents since I have had no issues with "tire browning" whatsover. I have been using it for over a year now.

I called EO and they said the gel is much thicker than spray bottle stuff.

The only problem : i tried to to find the gel everywhere. Everyone seems to only have the spray bottle.

same here RD i cant find it anywhere also i only see it in the spray bottels but i perfer gel over all spray because you use as much as you want and the wind doesnt take it all over the paint

Not to long ago I think it was Jngrbrman that went to sears and bought ever single bottle of eagle one they sell. Send him a PM maybe you can buy one of him.

I think he travels from state to state buying up all the eagle one products on sale.

NYD

hmm ok i dont know why CMA Doesnt Sell it they sell alot of other eagle one products Does anyone know where to get eagle one wet tire gel at a store instead of from peeps on the forum

Has anyone ever actually asked EO if the WET Gel has petroleum distillates? I asked this question several weeks ago, and no one seemed to know. By the way, the bottle does not say it contains petroleum distillates, unlike its spray bottled brother which calls them "Stoddart Solvents".

I just fired off a question to EO asking them via their website. I had been meaning to do this a while ago, but forgot... :doh

Where did you buy the tire gel ?
Who me? I didn't buy it, but a local auto parts chain carries this stuff. I just looked at it, took a little sniff :o, and put it back.

EO mailed me back but I think they think I'm asking about their spray on stuff
Thank you for your interest in Eagle One products. Our wet Tire shine is does contain some petroleum distillates. We do offer a water-based dressing in the form of Eagle One Protectant. If you are looking for a water-based product, Protectant is a great product that produces an even, natural looking shine.
I guess I'll have to try again.... :dance

That's what I suspected, Brian. The Tire Gel is really shiny, like many petroleum based products. I have and use the Protectant lotion. It's easy to use, but as it is water based, it doesn't last very long. But the appearance is very pleasing. Endurance lasts quit a bit longer, but is a bit on the shiney side.

Okay, here's their second response, and I'm kind of surprised they don't mention the PDs on the bottle:
I apologize for not being clear in my other e-mail. Tire Shine and Tire Gel have the same ingredients. The difference is the amount of certain chemicals that were changed to give it a thicker viscosity and a more durable shine.
So the answer is yes, it really does look like you can't have CLEAR protectant products that aren't swimming in pet. distillates. :p

I've noticed that NO TOUCH today at Costco and $7.99 for 3 cans seems like reasonable price, certainly better than my beloved Stoner's More Shine Less Time. My question is how does it perform? Is it very shiny, any sling, what is durability like?

Anybody else uses that stuff?

I've actually gotten into the routine of using No Touch as the regular tire dressing for my parent's van because it's fast. I use the original white can formula. Like it says, it's a kind of satin or semi-gloss finish once it's done "drying" (though I've never found any tire dressing to actually end up being dry to the touch). It holds this look for about a week maybe, then it dies down to a matte, dark "natural" look, that is, you could mistake it for an undressed but healthily black tire. It does not sling once dry/absorbed (maybe 5-10 minutes). Seems to have about average resistance to rain (ie, not fantastic).

3 for $8 sounds good to me, as "cheap" up here for this is about $4 a can.

I've also tried the High Shine formula (red can) a couple times and found the look way too "bling bling" for my tastes (or the tastes of my parents, who went  when they saw it). It dries to a fairly wet, greasy looking high shine as advertised. I can't even imagine what kind of jello-glazed look the purple can stuff might do.....
